Default Chocolate broke my stall :)

I was stalling for like a month and the other day out of sheer depression I had loads of chocolate and all sorts of junk food for the whole day.... The next day I checked my weight to see if I'd gained weight and to my astonishment I'd lost 5lbs!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! Yey chocolate!!!
If you've been stalling for a while take a cheat day .... It's worth a try

great for you.... scary for me, as long as I don't have sugar, I don't crave sugar. I can only imagine what the next couple days would be like for me after "loads" of chocolate. :-)

It worked that way for me a few times If I was frustrated about not loosing I would eat a little of this and that not necessarily junk food but just indulging in food can help at times it seems counter productive and it can be if you don't take that day as a reset. Don't let a bad habit start back up that way it can be really upsetting. I am going thru that today and i an aggravated with myself so i know tomorrow I will be better and I will only eat my three meals. Congrats on the stall breaking keep up the good work.

I have had indulging work for me in the past when I hit plateaus when dieting (not necessarily chocolate, but things like pizza, etc.). Although for me personally, I agree with Jenny - eating sugar makes me crave sugar, so I don't know if chocolate would be the best idea unless I wanted to go through a week of misery while my carb cravings subsided again...

Glad your stall has broken. Twice a night of cosmos has broken my stalls. I don't question it. Just seems like a win win.

That's so funny but not astonishing. Perhaps your 'mental relaxing' allowed your body to respond?

Chocolate was one of my trigger foods for binging. So unfortunately overindulging in chocolate is not something I can participate in. I am just going to stick with my meal plan and exercise regimen. When my body wants to drops the pounds it will. Glad it appears to have worked for you.

Over the past year and a half that has happend to me alot. I think I have over eaten for a day and dread getting on the scale and low and behold I have lost a pound. I think eating too little sometimes causes a stall. Last December my goal was to NOT gain a pound. Not lose, but not gain. I LOST 7 pounds in December can you imagine?

So glad for you to beat that frustrating stall. I am in a stall right now and I know it is because my body is starvation mode. Going from 2000 calories a day to 800 is quite a shock to the system. I lost about 2 pounds a week at 2000 calories with all the exercising I was doing. Now nothing. I go back to the doctor Tuesday and I really would like to show a good loss but that isn't happening. GRRRRRRRRRRR
I'm one of the few people who are not crazy about chocolate but I can eat it. If this stall lasts much longer I'm going to go get a large snickers bar.

Highest weight 440 lbs. lowest weight 9.5 lbs at birth
    Date of surgery weight 340
    12 week checkup 301 BMI <50 yeah!
Weight on birthday 3/24/48 Goal 285 would be nice.

It could be that but i do know for a fact that cheat days do help boost metabolism, thus staving off weight-loss plateaus

A few years ago I'd hired a trainer and I lost like a 100lbs (which I gained back in two years ) anyway, he made me go on a protein diet and every Saturday I was allowed a cheat meal. The meal could've been a 20 course one and it was fine. What I'm trying to say is that to a break a stall one has to take a cheat day /meal it should include the food you dont have on your diet days BUT go back to the diet the very next day!!
    Much love xoxo

    You could try Calorie Shifting

Here's and excerp from What is Calorie Shifting?

The basic premise of calorie shifting includes the following concepts:
Instead of eating the same calories and types of foods each day, people evaluate total calorie needed for a week. Rather than eating the same amount of calories each day to reach this total, people vary their calorie consumption amounts each day while still remaining within the total weekly calorie allotment.
Since the body doesn’t know what to expect, the metabolism can’t adjust or slow down because calorie intake on a daily basis will be variable. Further the metabolism can’t adjust to certain foods, since foods eaten will vary in nature.
    Kathy, Norco, CA

Start of my weight-loss journey: (11/10/2012/Surgery date: 12/27/2012) 310 lbs.
    7 months Post-Op: (07/27/2013) 225 lbs (down 85 pounds!!!)
