Just got home

I just got home from the hospital. Surgery was yesterday and today lots of pain. The nurses said I was doing really good, but tell me that this moment and I would disagree. Very sore, as the wife went to fill my prescription.

I am amazed I am able to walk and be home so fast, but glad to be here. Well to sore to write any more.

my insurance only covered one night in hospital...don't know if that is why you went home after one night but hope you feel lots better tomorrow! don't be afraid to take those pain meds, and ask for stronger if needed. don't stress about swallowing small pills...most docs, including mine were fine with that. i know it hurts, but keep drinking water ALL THE TIME. water is your friend the next few days. figure out how you like it best, warm, room temp or cold. everyone is different...i liked mine room temp for the first week...now i like it ten seconds from solid ice. remember, if you have pains in odd places like shoulders, or upper or lower back, that is trapped gas in the abdomen. you have to move to shift it. heating pads on the pain area will help, but not fix the issue, the gas has to shift. good luck and keep us updated

Dr. Turnquest said they normally send patients home the day after surgery. This is in Houston TX not TJ, Mexico.

Congratulations! Hope your feeling better soon. Don't forget the gas x gas strips and to walk it out. That was the key to my recovery, everyone does have a different experience though. Good Luck!!

My insurance approved to stay up to 5 nights and my doctor said I would only be in 1, so I think that is pretty common. What hospital did you have your surgery? I am having mine at Memorial Herman Memorial City in Houston.

Every day it gets a little better. Hang in there. I am only 4 days out and everything is getting better slowly, but surely.
