Advil before surgery

I have Gastric Sleeve surgery on Dec 5th and I hurt my back this morning and took 3 advils thinking it was 2 days before surgery to stop those type medications not 2 weeks. Did anyone post op do this before surgery and it turned out ok? My surgeon said it should be fine since it will be 5 days til the surgery but I am now more nervous about that than the actual stomach cutting!

Don't worry about this, it's a non-issue.

Don't worry about it. As long as you doctor knows he can take appropriate action if needed. I think they more worry about taking Nsaids after surgery as they can be hard on the stomach and cause ulcers. I take Trama-dol now after surgery its an Rx for pain which works alot like a narcotic but isn't. Works well for back pain and knee pain etc.

Generally the surgeon likes the patient to stop taking any habitual blood thinners. Drugs that deal with inflammation are not as much of a concern but they need to know. Aleve I believe is a better option then advil.

I think your fine. When you go in for surgery they will ask you what all medicines you have taken. You just tell them when you took it. Let the anesthesia Dr know you took it. The main reason is it doesn't counter act with the anesthesia. I can tell ya if the dr says its fine I'm sure you are good.
