Default feel like a failure already :(

I'm nearly 3weeks post op & lost next to nothing. I lost 3 kg the week of my op & nothing more. I'm on my soft/puree foods, eating prob 2-3 tablespoons per day plus plenty of water. What am I doing wrong? It's really starting to get me down & I'm feeling like a failure now. I'd hoped I woukdb have lost more by now

Are you supplementing with protein shakes? It's really important to get your protein in during all of your stages.

Don't worry I'm losing really slowly too look at the brightside the slower you lose the less you have to worry about saggy skin!! Also, this is a one year process... You'll either lose now or later .. But you Will lose

Don't be discouraged...for the longest while I kept at one weight with what seemed like forever (2 weeks or so)..then it slowly started moving again..You are in the healing stage 3 weeks out isn't all that long ago...Hang in there and remain positive...you are on the right track..and YOU WILL SEE RESULTS! Perhaps adding some exercises will help (walking??)..I wish you all the best!!

Our bodies are just not machines. It seems so logical, eat less, weigh less. Not so much... Your body is in shock still. Are you getting enough rest? Sleep, protein, liquids.. the big three. Try for 9 hrs at night of good rest, 60 gms of protein and 60 oz of water/liquids. Keep the carbs low...and pay attention to what helps you feel good because that is what will help your body heal. Sleep, Protein, Liquid...we all hit stalls at different times... hang in there, this is an emotional journey as well and your hormones are a mess right now. Just be good to your body and it will be good to you.

I know how you must feel but just try to hang in there. This has been the weirdest expereince for me. I drop 1-2 pounds at a time about every 7-10 days. I have gone 2 weeks before without loosing, but it is coming off. Even when not loosing pounds, you're loosing inches. Protein, protein, pootein! I still can't get anywhere close to all the water in. Hang in there!

    Start thinking LONG TERM.
Instead of counting pounds lost in the days since surgery and discouraging yourself, think about where you will be by this time NEXT YEAR.
Enjoy the journey, and BE POSITIVE. You're doing so much better now than you were before surgery! Give it time, the scale will catch up.

Okay, I know this will help. I had surgery 11/9 and I loss 12 lbs and a lady who had it the same day loss 19.5 lbs. My scale was at the same weight for over a week. Keep in mind, I wasn't exercising and had a UTI due to low fluid intake. I exercised one day and started getting more protein and water....Bam!!!! Weight loss. This thing is funny, you have to figure out what you need to get out of the stall. I also get discourage because this wasn't a cheap process and nobody, I mean NOBODY wants to fail at this. I can't tell you the secret but I can tell you what worked for me. I'm sure I will hit another stall, hopefully no time soon, but I will figure it out, again. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers......

Are you working out? Remember also that you need to eat a little more bc you can be starving yourself. Any loss is a victory I setup timers on my ph to remind me to eat. I would hardly get hungry and we need to eat something small. Protein is very important as well as water. If you can't still do work
    Outs walk.

Welcome to being normal my dear, don't let it get your down. Here is some info on what you body is doing, and why you are not seeing a loss in the scales. I had the same thing happen to me around the same time as you, and I am now 35 lbs down at almost 2 months out. You will lose! I have not really done anything I was supposed to, and I have lost 35 lbs. I am not saying follow in my foot steps, do all of the stuff you need to be doing...I am just saying there really is no way that you can't lose. I hope this info helps you feel more at ease. http://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/t...ng-stalls.html

Melanie my sleeve sister. We are in this together. I am in a stall also but I am trying to not let it f..k with my mind. As long as we follow the high protein diet and drink all our fluids and start to exercise a little it has to end sometime soon. It sounds like I have been having a little easier time of it than you. No problem with eating and just trying not to overload my tummy. The nutritionist says 2 or 3 oz at a meal 5 or 6 times a day. With meats about 2 oz is comfortable with yogurts I could eat a whole 6 oz container. Take care you are not a failure!

Highest weight 440 lbs. lowest weight 9.5 lbs at birth
    Date of surgery weight 340
    12 week checkup 301 BMI <50 yeah!
Weight on birthday 3/24/48 Goal 285 would be nice.
