How long did you wait before trying ground beef?

at almost 1 month out I am tolerating food very well. I am doing my best to follow doctors orders, but she is rather strict and I'm getting bored with eating such a limited diet. I have heard a lot of you guys talking about Wendy's chili and boy does that sound great! Not only would it be a nice change, but it would be great to eat somethingi didn't have to prepare myself

I stopped eating ground beef altogether and started eating ground turkey, lean ground turkey...much less fat much more protein...good luck!!

I've had chili at week 3 no issues here. I haven't found any food that I have an issue with yet! (Hope I haven't jinxed myself).

I had chili at 3 weeks out also. No problems. I made it myself, so it wasn't spicy.

I stopped eating ground beef altogether. However, I tried ground turkey, 1 month in....and threw it up. I tried ground turkey, 2 months in....threw it up. And, tried it again, and guess what? I threw it up. SO, it depends on your stomach....mine is still not tolerating it.....good luck!!!!

think it was around 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. I had steak about a that time too. My issues are more with tomatoes and pasta. No biggie b/c I really have not ever been a fan of either, even before surgery.

I love ground turkey! Idk why I never seem to buy it though :P I even had my boyfriend try turkey burgers and he actually LIKED it! He's one of those tyes that's a bit pickier than most. He loves rice and pasta, but won't eat soup or cooked veggies, most of my recipes. If it's unhealthy, he'll eat it! So I was soo happy that he likes ground turkey! I think I'll start buying that instead of beef. I hope I still like it after my surgery!

It should be fine. If the texture is still to course your could through it in the blender. Just try it and see if your tummy wants it. I would start with one bite and then wait a little, easy does it.

oh and I agree. I love turkey burgers. My whole family has been switched to them and they actually like them better than beef.

I did Wendy's chili about 3-4 weeks out. Mostly i just drank the liquid part, and then chewed a few bites until very mushy. It went down well.

I did have a beef hot dog Saturday (actually just 2 bites)

Try it.. your stomach will tell you if it likes it or not
I throw up anything I don't tolerate..

I started with ground beef around 4 weeks out. It has been a staple ever since. I buy the leanest kind my market sells, which is usually 93%.
I make chili all the time with canned diced tomatoes, black soy beans(less carbs than kidney beans and higher protein), onion and some chili powder. The prepackaged chili seasoning has some sugar and flour, so I try to avoid them.
I also make my own jerky out of ground beef and love it. (ground beef, hot sauce, liquid smoke, salt, onion and garlic powder) Very simple recipe. I dry mine to the extreme and it becomes almost like a potato chip, which helps when you want something crunchy.
Taco meat is good too. Taco salad, minus the tortilla chips.
Meat sauce for pasta. I only eat the sauce with some parm cheese, the family gets to add the pasta. Be careful with store bought tomato sauce, some are high in sugar.
You will have to experiment and see what your sleeve will tolerate.
I would start with plain ground beef first, then start adding stuff to it(onions, tomatoes, seasonings ...).
I see some comments about ground turkey(which I also eat often). You really have to read the labels, because some ground turkey can have a high fat content and be worse than the beef.
