    Default slow weight loss

I just had my sleeve done Oct9 2012 in Tijuana Mexico by Dr. Almanza, when I told my family and some very close friends that I was having my surgery in Mexico they all freaked and were against it but they were not the ones footing the bill. Tijuana was great and the whole process was really fast. Kind of like wham bam thank you mam, but when you know what you are doing that is a sign of a well oiled machine. We flew into San Diego on Monday morning from Houston TX. stayed in a hotel in SD came back to the airport Tuesday morning to be picked up by the Jerusalem hospital bus to get us across the boarder. Went strait to the Hospital had my blood-work and EKG done and prepped for surgery. Everything went well but I am not going to lie, that first night and day after surgery was horrible I was in so much upper gas pain, could not get comfortable no matter how much i walked around or what meds they gave me I had wished I was in an induced coma for two days just to get pass that part....but on the third day when i was moved to Hotel Tucuan the gas pain was very manageable the nurse on staff at the Hotel was super sweet and helpful and I went shopping that day. My concerns are actually that because I am 40yrs old on thyroid meds for hypo. weigh 177 height 5'2" that the weight is going to come off alot slower then it does for everyone else. my friend lost 7lbs with the 3 day pre op liquid diet, I lost 1.5lb oh well I just started on my journey and we shell see how it goes, if everything goes according to plan I plan on going back to Mexico in two years for a tummy tuck and thigh lift.

Just see how it goes, you had a great attitude w/ Almanza, now just apply that to your weight loss.

You have to remember that you just had surgery a few days ago, and they pumped you full of IV fluids and gas to perform the procedure. My loss has been a little slower than some, but I am OK with that because I am hoping that means my skin will have a little more time to adjust. I do have regular stalls, but lose inches during the stalls. All of our journey's are different and unique, so just try to enjoy the experience as you start losing weight!

My loss is slower than most due to thryoid issues that make my metabolism slow, and I don't worry about it nearly as much as lots of people here do. I know the weight will come off eventually (76 pounds have already) and on good days I'm content w/ that. On bad days I'm impatient and pissy, which doesn't help my weight loss at all! I work on having more patient days and know that I can't control my body so much as it controls me...I can only influence certain factors.

Try not to compare your weight loss to others, it's hard. We all lose at different rates. Let your sleeve do its job, trust it & treat it with respect & you won't go far wrong x

The nutritionist told me that weight loss will sometimes be slow, but if your clothes are fitting looser than you are still losing weight. She told me that sometimes the scale doesn't show a real weight loss, because we may be losing water in the beginning and then we loose fat (which is lighter than muscle). If the numbers don't change, but your clothes are getting bigger, you are are still losing. She told me to stop focusing on the numbers and start focusing on making healthy choices. Good luck with your journey!
