    Default Six weeks update!!

It has been six weeks since my sleeve and I am truly grateful that I made the decision to have my sleeve. My incisions are all healed and It does not really look like I have been cut at all. I am adjusting to my new way of eating. For many years I have always ate everything on my plate because in my house my mother would not allow you to leave anything on your plate. Now I always leave food on my plate when I am full. I have learned not to put more than the amount that I know that I can eat on my plate which makes it easier. I can't explain it but, when I see others eat its hard to picture that I use to eat that much food. My highest weight was 417 lbs and My weight when I started my journey to looking into weight loss surgery was 412 lbs. Preop diet I was 391 lbs and I lost 20 lbs before surgery. My weight now is 336 lbs a total weightloss of 35 lbs since surgery but 76 lbs total since my journey I feel so much better I am able to walk and do my excercise. I will be adding other excercise in a few weeks but, walking has help me jump start my weightloss through my stall. I am begining to enjoy my walks they help me out alot. I just put on my headphones and go for it. I am looking forward to the new me. Congrats to all the other sleevers out there that are doing an amazing job. And if you are considering the sleeve you will not be let down if you go for it...

Awesome! Congratulations on your success so far! :]

I can completely relate to seeing others eat and thinking how weird it is that I used to eat that much. I used to be able to put away some food! I look at food now as more of a necessity, rather than for enjoyment. I try to catch myself, because at times I look at others eating, and I'm thinking "HOW could you eat THAT much food?!", but I have to remember I was once there, and now I'm the one eating an unusually small amount of food.

I agree with you guys. I look at people eat and say oh lord can't believe you can eat that much. I guess we get so used to eating such small amounts now and forget how we used to eat. I don't enjoy food anymore. It is not the same as it used to be. But what is great is that I can't go back to being an emotional eater and I have to deal with my depression in a better way. I am finally in my life really dealing with it. All I can say is the sleeve has saved my life physically and emotionally. I lose weight effortlessly compared to some other people. I have truely been given a second chance at life.

Thanks Marilyn I can relate to fighting with weight because I have been battling with it for a long time and you are right you must change your mindset to occomplish your goals. The sleeve is teaching me that food is not a reward it is a fuel for the body and we need it but not a whole lot like I had been consuming.
