Default new member and needing some support

I had my gastric sleeve surgery on 9/12/2012. I am glad that I did this surgery I have been wanting to do it for a long time but always chickened out, for some reason this time when I was looking into doing the procedure I knew this was the right time for me and I had the support I needed. I have lost almost 15 lbs since the surgery which is great, but I get a little scared sometimes cause I feel like I can eat a lot still and when I do my stomach will tell me when I have had enough. I was hoping that it would not give me so much freedom am I doing something wrong. I know I am not drinking enough water so I am in the process of correcting that. But any other feedback would be greatly welcomed. I am getting married on 12/12/12 and I want to look amazing in my wedding dress.

I still have trouble getting my liquids in, and I'm almost 6 weeks post op.....and don't worry about your stomach. It will let you know when it's full. It may seem like you're eating a lot but it's still WAY less than what you ate prior to surgery.

I was sleeved on the same day and couldn't tolerate any liquid protein after my surgery... I went to soft foods a little earlier than most simply to get some protein in... I have been eating pretty much anything for the last week... As long as it isn't spicy, it doesn't seem to bother me.... I am going to be trying Spirutean (sp) from GNC to try some soy based protein.. we will see...

I am 8 weeks out and some days, I can't get all my liquids in!! Your new stomach will let you know when you have had too much to eat!! Enjoy and don't worry the weight will come off!!

I have never once gotten in all my liquids. I'm hoping it will get easier in time. I was worried, too, about eating too much. I started logging my calories along with my protein. I've only been doing it for 2 days, but each day has been between 5 and 600. It may help you see where you stand each day. I just google what I eat and figure it from there, if I'm uncertain. Good Luck. I got married on 2/2/2, so I love your date!!!

thanks yeah it is weird the first couple days after surgery I could hardle eat anything and I was full now I really have to listen to my body signals. Does anyone else get the burps when they are suppose to stop eating that is something that has been going on with me since I had surgery which is weird and kind of gross but it lets me know when I have had enough

Yeah I get the burps and I can actually hear the food going down my sleeve. It makes these gurgly sounds, kinda weird but it lets me know that my sleeve is almost full.

I heard it going down to for the first couple of days and can't hear that, I thought it was both kindof weird and cool at the same time. there are times now that I actually wonder if I had the surgery cause I can eat more than what I was expecting.

Well everyone is different. But I can hold around 4-5 ounces of chewed up food and be comfortably full. According to my nutritionist eventually I'll be able to hold 8oz of chewed food. But that's a year out. Now, if I drink while I eat....I can hold a lot more food. Like close to 6 1/2 to 7oz. Which isn't good, it's more than my sleeve can hold right now and that stretches it out. If you keep eating more than you expect, I would talk with your surgeon at your next appt.
