Prilosec and Ursodiol

Hey everyone!! I was wondering if anybody is taking Prilosec and Ursodiol? I am 6 weeks post op and was curious if anyone else was instructed to use both meds after surgery.

I am. Omeprazole (prilosec) for acid reflux (and to help prevent stomach ulcers, I guess) and Ursodial to prevent gall stones. I don't take the omeprazole as much anymore, if at all. But I did take them together for a good while. I know you're not supposed to take them within 2 hours of each other.

I took both at first. I am still taking Ursodiol, but I have been off Omeprazole for a while.

I started both of them. I was instructed to take Prilosec for the rest of my life because it reduces stomach acid. I had to stop taking ursodiol because it raised my liver enzymes extremely high and we didn't want to damage my liver.

I took both for the first 3 months after surgery....I am no longer taking either of them and have been fine...I believe it's standard for most bariatric surgeons....Best of Luck in your weight loss journey

I am still on Ursodiol. I don't get off that until December which will be 7 months post op. I was on Prevacid every day. My surgeon took me off that after my 3 month post op appointment. He said I could still take it if I needed to but it wasn't necessary. :-)
