Default 5 months post op and wonderful dinner last night

I know many new sleevers are probably asking themselves if they will ever be able to eat a normal meal again, and when I say normal I don't mean eating like pre sleeve days, but without having to weigh and measure things, etc. Well last night I did it. We had company for dinner and I made a wonderful pork loin roast on the grill. When it came time to eat, I didn't sit there with my scale at the table. I took a very thin slice of pork, a little tablespoon size dab of mashed potato, some asparagus spears and a little dab of sugar free applesauce. It was like heaven!

This morning I was down .4 ounces from yesterday, so take heart everyone....we can live with our sleeves and lead normal lives without freaking out. All it takes is being cautious on our parts in not overeating and following the rules.

Oh yes, I'm not advocating NOT to measure and weigh your food as I usually do when I'm home, but you've also got to be able to judge for yourself what your new proper portions might look like in other situations.

Thanks! Looking forward in being able to eat regular food. Today is my fourth day out of surgery. Broth is really tasty to me right now.

That was a good exercise for you, now knowing that you can judge a healthy serving. I on the other hand having counted and weighed and measured for so many diets over the years have decided that I will not do that this time. After the first stage of post surg. I have just used my own judgement/body to decide what to eat. Working for me. I love that we all find our way to support ourselves, and there are many roads. We are a few weeks apart post op, you are doing great and must really notice such a change, I know that I am. Cheers
