I am so upset right now!! Quinones Bounced refund check.

As some of you know, I was having second thoughts about Quinones and decided to cancel my surgery. After waiting a long time and a lot of back and forth with Henry, they sent me a refund check minus $250. Well the check bounced. So now I owe my bank fees for a bounced check and I have no refund. Is this how you do business????

Thank you!! I'm so glad I didn't have my surgery with them. Very shady. I'm going to post a complaint online along with a YouTube video so if anyone googles Quinones and his team they'll be warned.

That's how they should have paid her in the first place!! Every surgeon in Mexico that I am aware requires a cashier or bank certified check to secure your surgery date. I would expect that they would utilize the same method when returning payment. I would absolutely make them reimburse you for fees.. Hell, I would ask for ALL of it back at this point....

Thanks @ SecretSleeve and everyone who replied. I called Henry and he said he's going to have accounting send me a money order plus the bank fees. I'm not holding my breath though. I'll believe it when I see it...the money that is.

Was it a Mexican bank check? If so, I wouldn't expect you to be able to cash it in an US bank? Hope you get sorted out.

When Dr. Quinones' office had me send my deposit I was required to wire the money through my bank, why don't you ask them to wire the money back into you bank account? It takes a couple of days to post into your account, but at least you will get your money and not have to worry about any fees. Speaking as a business owner, although bouncing a check is unprofessional, and embarrassing on the business' part it can be fairly easy to do...seeing as how most companies hold multiple accounts that deal with different transaction types. I know it sucks on your end to have to incur bank fees, but TRUST me the fees they will incur on their end are FAR worse! That simple billing office mistake can bounce fees to all of their accounts, and cost them thousands to fix. That being said I would definitely ask them to refund additional money to cover your bank fees. Even though it can be an honest mistake, it just bad business to not make it right for your clients.

Please keep us posted! I know 250$ may not seem like a lot--but when you are trying to pay for a sleeve surgery especially it IS a lot of money. Also those added bank fees can't be good on your pocket book either. I hope you find a doc you're comfortable with finally. I know it's a personal decision that takes a lot of consideration.
