I see people post about the "Slimes" What is that?? They refer to this when they are talking about eating something. They say that they get the slimes.

It's when partially digested food and gastric juices back up into your throat (and perhaps the mouth) either because you ate too much, too fast or ate something your tummy doesn't like. This is related to the foamies which is basically the same thing, but with a different texture to the stuff backing up. It is unpleasant, but not as bad as throwing up.
I've never had this, yet, either - that I know of! Or, that I've realized! Nothing that's come up into my mouth, at least.. I've wondered about it, too.
I remember wondering the same thing---WHAT THE HECK IS THAT???? Well, not everyone has the experience, some have it all the time. I don't know for sure what causes either the slimes or foamies---I have had both and they are not on my list of fun things to do. For me---eating way to fast will provide me with slimes, and foamies come from forgetting to chew chew chew chew----Both are unpleasant, but I assure you---the first time was a lesson, second time was ARE YOU KIDDING???? HOW CAN I FORGET THAT????? there has been no 3rd time for me on either Blessings- Connie
Uh so a vurp is not part of this or is it in the same category. A vomit / burp at the same time. Of which I have experienced a few times and have attempted with my entire being to avoid.
Thank you everyone. After my sleeve I will try to avoid all of those. LOL! My worst fear in the whole world is throwing up and i will do anything possible to keep from doing it so this surgery will be a real test for me. I am not worried about any thing except that believe it or not. Not even the pain. Does this sound stupid or what?

Your worst fear is throwing up - surgery or no surgery??? Just throwing up, in general?
I have not thrown up since I was in the hospital, right after surgery. I threw up for the first 2 days, and had to stay an extra night because of the nausea. HOWEVER -- don't let that scare you. There is medicine they give you /can give you for it, and I know that mine was from trying to drink too cold of water! I finally told the nurses that, and I asked for plain ole water out of the faucet, no ice! And, it worked! COLD water made me nauseous for 2 months.
I haven't thrown up at all since my surgery 6 weeks ago. They gave me anti-nausea drugs in the hospital and I went home with some too. I took them about 3 times in the first week, but I made sure I carried them with me for the first 2 weeks just in case.
Well it's comforting to know that I will be throwing up at least once. Hee Hee! I will try to prepare for it (jk)
No, I am not afraid of having the surgery itself believe it or not. I have had so many surgeries that this is just another. My latest one was in June this year when I had my tendon stretched on my left foot because of a bone spur. Thanks everyone for telling me what my journey will include, I appreciate it and all of you too! It is so comforting to have friends to go thru this with me.

Thankfully I have not experienced what you are talking about. In fact, things have been getting much easier in the passion department as I'm losing weight. It's been a long time since I've had command of the post (on top) and I'm looking forward to that day! I had to comment because your post made me smile (really big), especially since you were describing the tone/rhythm of your bedroom work bench! LOL I'm not sure if you're able, but perhaps try positions where you are not laying down; that could have something to do with it and I'm sure your bucking bronco escapades will become less slimy with time. :-) Hugs and I apologize to all my fellow sleevers who are gagging just because of the amount of information (too much, I know :-) I just provided- ha!
Trust me---there is never too much information on this forum. We have discussed ALL the things that have happened and what we did to solve the problem. I know for myself if someone is really looking for a solution, it's all good---we on this forum all have a common goal---to live a healthy life. Sharing our experience makes it easier for others. With that said, sorry I can't help you with your situation---perhaps you might want to mention it to your Dr. OR just give it some time---maybe you are still swollen inside and that causes more pressure. Just sayin---Blessings- Connie
