    Default Dry-heaving?

I'm seriously miserable. I've felt ok up until the past couple days, but now I'm super nauseous all the time. Two days ago I puked for the first time, but I think I ate too much. Tonight I took one sip of water and dry heaved for 10 minutes. What gives? I don't understand why I'd start having nausea issues now when I've never been nauseous in almost this entire process. Is this normal or is something else going on?

I told my husband last night that I'm regretting the decision to have the surgery. I started doing really well for a couple weeks! This week is all downhill. I just want to lay in bed and cry.

I would call your dr. I had the same issue and ended up getting put on Prevacid (the dis-solvable rx). I had my surgery a couple of days after yours and I still find myself a bit nauseous at times. It is better to be safe in this whole process. Just think....temporary discomfort for better health!

I am on a Prevacid type prescription and have been since I came home from the hospital. I'm tempted just to go to the hospital and be put on IV fluids because I feel sooo thirsty. And right now a sip of water makes me nauseous. I will have to call the doctor or go to the hospital in the AM.

have you put any flavoring into your water?
    Maybe tried peppermint tea?

Seems like water doesn't sit well with several unless they added something to it.

I had trouble with water for the first couple weeks but then I was doing fine with it. I really don't like flavored water. I do drink Gatorade when water isn't working for me. (the low cal kind).

When I was in the hospital the nurse I had was WONDERFUL!!!!! She actually had the bypass several years ago and her husband had the sleeve a couple of years ago so she was very helpful. If you drink plain water do you notice that it feels like a rock going down? She told me that would happen because water is a heavy liquid. She said that if you add a water enhancer (like MIO or something like that) it actually chances the PH in the water and makes it lighter and easier to drink. Also it doesnt take much to flavor a bottle of water....
...........Yes I know I sound CrAzY but I tried it and it seems to work. If you have a problem with the fruity flavors Kroger/MIO has a sweet tea and a peach tea. I found that the fruity flavors weren't tasting good and were toooooo sweet so yesterday I tried the Peach Tea and its great!!!!!!

ANYWAYS I KNOW THIS POST WAS ABOUT DRY HEAVING BUT I SAW SOME POSTS ABOUT THE WATER AND THE FLAVORS YOU CAN ADD

My first sip of Gatorade this morning started me dry heaving like crazy again. Part of me wonders if this might be morning sickness...I highly doubt it because we've tried to get pregnant for over three years with two failed IVFs, it's crazy unlikely we could conceive naturally. I'm thinking this has more to do with not pooping for a week.

You said the morning sickness. not me.. My doctor had told us to use 2 forms of birth control after surgery that people are very fertile.. you never know!!! I say call the doctor anyway regardless of what your little pee stick says.. because maybe you have some vitamin deficiency or something is going on. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.. Try freezing some crystal lite (love the pink lemonade) and see if you can't get some fluids in you that way.. good luck .. keep us posted.. we're all in this together

It took what seemed like forever but they finally figured out my issues were caused by my gallbladder. They took it out on the 30th of August and it took two full weeks before I started feeling normal again because I had some issues with malnutrition and dehydration from being unable to eat or drink much. Even for a week after the surgery I was puking/dry heaving.

    Thanks for the advice everyone!
