Just for interest sake,all of you that's had bad hair loss....

1.Was your hair long or short at the time of surgery until the hair started falling out (do/did you tie it up?)

2.Have you coloured or highlighted your hair since surgery?

I am trying to figure if this makes a difference and if I should cut my hair ( never had short hair in 10 years)

Wow, congrats! I see you've lost about 80 lbs! Me too and I have not had any issues with too much hair loss. Mine was shoulder length, and have since cut it short only because I wanted a change. I color regularly also. My stylist doesn't see too much of a difference but my hair is thick to start with!Hve you had a problem?

Never really thought about it but I had my hair colored about 3 weeks ago and its fine. I use Aveda products tho and go to an Aveda salon. I also have thick hair so if i lose a little I will be fine with it.

My hair would come out a lot after surgery but after talking with my doctor, he said that my body had a major shock to it and that was just part of it. I haven't had the hair loss for a few months now and I've cut and colored it since too, your body just takes time to heal is all.

I had longish hair pre-op and about 2 months post-op I cut it short. It was already falling out when it was longer though. I have always colored my hair so I am sure that made no difference. I usually have thick hair so the loss is not noticeable (yet) but it is REALLY coming out. I don't dare brush it at all, just wash, scrunch a bit and air dry to minimize further breakage. I've read that it will eventually stop.

Cut mine short this past week.....is falling out badly!!!! ..... Note: It DOES NOT break off....it falls out at the root.
