Default Is it common to not be able to eat a meal?

    Hi all =)

I'm on my 2nd week of purred foods. I'm supposed to eat 4-7 mini meals per day. I get about 4-5 in. I slowly introduce new foods, and back off from eating if I can't handle it. Just now I went to eat my 4th meal of ricotta and melted FF mozz cheese, something I've been eating since day 1 of purred food, and my stomach just started making crazy noises and I guess I got the foamies. So I stopped eating that. I then went to eat a little yogurt which I have also been eating, and same thing.

Earlier today I ate some salmon salad, and it had celery in it. I didn't catch it till it was in my mouth, but I chewed it really well, and it was really small. I'm hoping I didn't mess something up. I know I'm not supposed to have raw veggies. I hope I didn't screw something up. I'm worried because I'm actually pretty hungry right now.

Is it common for your stomach to not accept a random meal of any kind?

I had that problem to at your stage. If you cannot get a pureed meal down try a protein shake instead. Then go back to eating a pureed. Sometimes all I could get in was 3 or 4 bites but it does get better!

I tried to get my protein in with protein shakes at that stage and soft stuff like cottage cheese, greek yogurt, soft meats and cheeses. You may only be able to take 3 or 4 bites. Eat sloooooowly and don't drink 30 prior/after you eat. Good luck...Foamies are annoying!

I do my protein shakes in the morning, and I hadn't eaten for the previous 4 hours, or drank for awhile before (my dr says 15 before and 1hr after but I'm pretty sure this was close to 1/2 hour before). I waited a bit and ate a serving of the protein ice cream my husband makes for me (protein powder, almond milk, and sugar free syrup in the ice cream maker) so at least I hit 70 today and I was able to get that down.

    Hoping tomorrow is better!

I found at that stage (and sometimes still) that every day can be a new eating adventure. Something my stomach loved one day it refused the next, and then would accept again a few days later. Keep a variety of options on hand to try, and you'll be fine.
I may be a SLOW loser, but I'm still a loser!!

It really is trial and error...and sometimes success! You will learn what you can tolerate and keep in mind that as your sleeve heals and time goes on, you will be able to eat different things. Hang in there, it does get easier!!!

Dairy is highly allergenic. If you are developing an allergy, avoid it for five consecutive days every week, then have it as you wish for the last two days only. My allergist says it takes about five days to recover from a histamine overload like that, and that it happens as a result of exposing yourself to too much of the allergen. I hope it's just a phase! Good luck!
