    Kiwi,
Slow down. You can not get it all in at the beginning. Small meals, sip sip sip. I use gummie vitamins and take two a day. You should be eating 3-4 small meals and two snacks. Try to eat what makes tummy feel good, but be mindful of protein first. You will get the hang of this. I try to keep the mindset that I have to teach my tummy to eat again just like teaching a baby to eat. Listen to your body and be mindful of the goals that the nutritionist has set it will get easier. Some days I feel like a hand ful of raw almonds and an ounce of cheese for breakfast. If that is what my tummy wants that is what I give it. This morning I felt like crawfish etouffee at breakfast time. My tummy thanked me. Soon you will look back and laugh at the beginning. Wishing you success!

dachsie, it is one of the things my tummy will always enjoy. I can eat about half a cup of etouffee. No rice. My surgeon told me at my first post surgery visit, "You know you can't eat rice." I said, "OK" He said, "I mean it, NO rice." I told him I had done without it for 44 years before surgery I thought I could go another 44 after. He could not believe it when I told him I do not like rice.

Docs say no rice because it expands so much in your tummy. I'm 9 months out and eat a little rice occasionally now but stayed away from it in those first months.

    Kiwi,
According to the bible I received from my nutritionist, for the first 3 weeks you should be taking in 1 oz of liquid every 15 minutes while you are awake. That makes 4 oz every hour. That comes out to 48 oz. but if you have 2 protein drinks that is only 16 oz but gets you 40 gms of protein (I used Unjury).

    I hope this helps!
