When are we doing our WEIGHT LOSS REUNION 2013??

Hey I been reading a few posts from a few members about a get together to celebrate our overall weight-loss success. I think that is an awesome idea and I am down for a trip, cruise, spa day, excursion, whatever just let me know. Maybe we can continue this as a tradition each year have one big meet up, we can switch the location up every year. I am unsure how it all would work because we all come from different parts of the country and different regions of the states. I am down for one in American and Australia. It would be nice to see in person how far people have come, It is a good way for us to MEET UP. Just let me know for anyone who is planning something. Are maybe we can start a Group just focused on getting something planned. I don't know but just keep in touch with me for those who do have something in mind. It can be our weight loss convention I don't know. But I am aboard

Okay Crazy Idea,.... the ONLY problemwith a meet up is it is limited to two types of members - those close to the meeting placeand those who can get to the meeting place. What if,... we had a virtual meeting,.. like using Skype or some other software with our webcams and whatever? We could meet more often and sill see each others progress and put a face to a name - I make a killer vitual sleeve approved (insert favorite drink)! Even if we do the cruise trip thing once a year but do something virtual more often,...Sorry comes from having an entire call center that works from home,.. I tend to think ofhow to turn real events into virtual - (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not THAT real event.....something real don't need tampered with LOL!!)

I don't know just a thought,... Oh By The Way,.. I can have fish tomorrow (I didn't ever really like fish before and I am praying I would like it now,...cross your fingers for me) -

I think an annual GTG is a GREAT idea. I started a thread to ask about this on the social meet-ups board.
Whether it happens in Vegas or different cities every year, I think face-to-face reunions are a good idea for all of us.
Let there be music! Let there be dancing! Let there be late night pool parties!

Changing cities each year gives different people the opportunity to attend and shares travel costs for those closer or further away from the venue.

For me...finances would be the only obstacle. So if we plan early then I can try budgeting for it, preferrably in the US. But I love the idea!!!! And I live in VEGAS so if we decided to do it here I can easily make the arrangements.

I haven't been so many places I wouldn't mind going anywhere EXCEPT I HATE HUMIDITY SO Florida couldn't do it, you know what the South couldn't do it. Whenever we do it, it should be for the end of next year or the end of summer of next year. At least a year from today. I think it should be somewhere we can wear bathing suits then it forces everyone to get in their best shape possible to be able to sport that bathing suit off. I can do Vegas got family there, PLUS it is only a full tank of gas away. Maybe we should start to take suggestions on possible locations. Things to remember you don't need a passport to go to Puerto Rico or the US VIRGIN ISLANDS! Just throwing that up there. I am pretty sure they are humid but I will do it for those two places. Maybe we can try to keep cost under 1k. That should be do able for about anyone, a year from now. Many of us have friends who got surgery so it would be a matter of airfare and sharing cost on a hotel. I don't know but I am pretty sure someone on here is a travel planner.

I travel a lot for business, and IMO the best destination is ALWAYS a big city with a major airport.
The further away from a major city you are, the more expensive the trip becomes, because it is MUCH more expensive to get connections to small airports than major ones. And don't get me started on ground transportation! Other than that, I am flexible about locations and dates.
I'd also rather meet up in the midwest than the caribbean. More options, prices less influenced by season.

My mother had a travel agency for many years which she "sold" to a cousin....

I'd just throw out a 3 or 4 day cheap cruise (or longer if desired)....you can get really great deals on repositioning cruises and off season cruises to certain destinations. Caribbean is obviously in play, but east or west coast are options. I've noticed many members here seem to be from Texas and California.

Well, I know some people enjoy cruises, but it definitely rules out driving to the GTG.
I probably wouldn't enjoy being around all the unlimited food that I have to pay for and can't eat.

Well whenever is clever I think 4/3 or 3/2 is best. I want to lose 100 lbs so if we can do it at least 9 months out that would be great. I am flexible on anything! Just let me know. I never been to Texas I don't mind California even though I am from San Diego. We could do Vegas or Reno. Just let me know

My vote would be for vegas. Always a good time there. Flights are fairly cheap from any where to there and hotel prices aren't bad either. Second choice would be a Caribbean cruise. Regardless I'm in.

Vegas was a good choice because there are always cheap flights to Vegas, round the clock. I love Chicago as well, but of course there's NO WAY to make it convenient for everyone, every year, so we need to stay open minded.
