Hi im 7 Weeks post op and I was wondering if it is unsual to be consuming 800 to 900 calories per day
can anyone tell me a typical day for them is??? I feel like im eating alot :/
wow ! i couldnt even imagine eating a subway sandwhich, evn a bite, i kno lots of ppl say they can eat anything, but i cant do carbs, i cant do bread especially. ive eaten a saltine cracker or sum wheat thins here or there but no rice n i thnk ive had a bite of potato a couple times but thats it. i usually keep my calories at around 6-700, rare occasions it gets up to 1000 but those days i feel like ive really eaten all day long. im 5 months out. your doing great w ur weight loss tho so it must working for u, congrats!
So far, I can eat anything, but just not very much of it. I went to the new Furr's in Plano, Tx. today (buffet, LOL) because other family members wanted to go.
I had 2 small pieces of fish (about 3 ounces each) with tartar sauce, and some squash (about 2 ounces). It took me almost an hour to eat the pathetically small amount of food, but praise Jesus I was full. I loved watching all those fat people (who I kinda feel sorry for) wolfing down 2 or 3 plates like I used to do, and washing it down with drinks and then a dessert. After my small plate I was full and didn't desire any food. Before, if I had gone to a place like that, I would have still been hungry and would have had to handcuff my right hand to prevent getting a big fat dessert after I finished two full plates, heaping with food.
I started my 3rd month as of July 1st. Most days I get in between 700 - 850 calories depending upon what I'm eating. I'm basically eating nothing but proteins right now, a few carbs like crackers in soup here and there or the carbs in protein bars. I haven't even really had many veggies or fruits. I still do a 30 gr protein shake per day too. Good luck and keep us posted on your success.
I had surgery on 2/28/12. I track my food intake on myfitnesspal.com. I am averaging btwn 500 and 700 daily. I have hit 800 calories in a day acouple of times but when I have done this it has been b/c I have just pushed myself to consume more than I really want to eat. I am limiting my carbs to vegatable and some in my yogurt or oatmeal. Crackers occassionally and half a slice of bread toasted afew times like less than 5 times so far. I have no desire to eat and really have to work to get in the calories I get. I can eat most things if I chew slowly.
Wow, that seems like so little food. The FDA recomends at least 1200 calories a day. I'm guessing you take vitamins or something to ensure proper nutrition? I'm learning so much on this board and thankful for those who post. I am so ready to be sleeved!
