Default What are your "must-have" items?

I am getting sleeved this Monday. I was hoping that I could get some suggestions for "must-have" items that I should bring with me to the hospital.

Toiletries, pair of comfy sweats or lounge pants. Cell phone, lip balm. That's all I brought if I wasn't walking I was sleeping.

Gotta have chapstick, a pillow for your car ride home, a robe so don't have to worry about your fanny showing and a book or something to entertain you when you're awake and not up and about. Good luck!!!

I wish I would have brought slippers. I don't like to wear socks in bed so every time I had to get up I had to bend down and put my socks on since I couldn't go barefoot. I packed a whole bunch of stuff like books, DS, Nook, and I played with the nook some (my hospital had wifi) but maybe only an hour or so. Was very happy I brought deodorant since I had to come in with no lotions or anything on.

I just got sleeved on Tuesday, and I packed a robe, slippers, my own pj's (which I never wore while in the hospital), chapstick, magazines, and my nook. I thought I would get a lot of reading in, but when I wasn't walking or sleeping, I really only felt like thumbing through magazines or watching a little TV. (My favorite was watching "What Not To Wear" to get fashion ideas for when it's my turn to buy a whole new wardrobe!)

Good luck to you! Keep us posted!

In my bag I have the following packed:
flip flops (I don't like slippers)
baby wipes to wipe my face, etc
    gas x strips
clothes pin to hold drain in place
    deodrant
colgate wisps - those little toothbrushes that don't need water
    hand lotion
    lip balm
t-shirt and shorts for trip home - I bought 1 size bigger to account for swelling
broth cubes - in case of delays at airport on way home
bible - never leave home w/o it!!
    panties
sanitary pads - just in case. I hear that surgery can bring it on early

A tiny fan would have been nice to me. I had my surgery and stayed the night in the ICU. Then to the regular room for the 2nd night. At 6:00 pm the electric went out due to a severe storm. The hospital generators kept the lights and such on. But, no tv or air condition and it was 100 outside. If I would have had a fan it would have been great..
