    Default I'm Not Complaining, But...

I want some clothes that fit me! I've spent the last six months donating clothes from my closet that have either been sitting there for years too small for me to wear or that I was wearing at the time of my surgery and no longer can. I was in a 26/28 in November and am now (depending on the brand) anywhere from an 18 to a 20 (one brand a 22, which fits in the waist but not the butt and thighs). This morning I went through four pairs of jeans, rejecting each one before finding a size 20 that a friend of mine left here last year when she was visiting. They kind of fit. I have belly fat issue, so they're a little tight in the gut but a bit baggy in the thigh. It's funny, never in my life has my butt or thighs been the small part of me. It's always been that my waist was too small for my butt. Jeans would be way too big for my waist in order to just barely fit my butt! I kind of like that part, but also hope I'll get rid of some of that flab.

Three weeks ago I had to attend a conference for work and bought a pair of capris (size 20). They now sag off me like crazy! Now, I'm not complaining really, I'm just.. commenting. I think this weekend I'm going to pay a visit to some thrift stores. Maybe there will be some jeans there I can wear.

This is why I wear dresses a lot, you can go down in weight in certain styles without having to change sizes so often and they're more forgiving than pants. Sorry you're having trouble, hon!

This is something that is really frustrating for me. People who I talk to about this seem to think im crazy and that I should just be happy about all the weight loss. Dont get me wrong, I definately am - but when I try on six different things each morning to find something that doesnt hang and look trashy or something that doesnt look just right yet and is still too tight, it can be VERY daunting... Doesnt make for a good morning

I feel like I am wearing a tire around my belly. It is frustrating with the loose skin and belly fat. But I can sure move faster than before so I can't go back.

Get your pants/jeans tailored. You will rather have a good fitting pair than 4 not good ones! Tailor tailor tailor

You will keep losing and what fits you one day two weeks later wont! It is very unsettling and can make it difficult to keep dressed! I found stretchy leggings with a loose long top (thigh length) to be both comfortable and modest, and very forgiving as i dropped sizes! They are a fashion "no-no" to wear if the top is not long enough because they show every flabby bulge! I went to thrift stores, every month to get the tops and pants and yes, skirts too! Thrift stores were great because I could not afford to replace my wardrobe every time i dropped sizes! So i waited until i lost all my weight to go to the mall! Love Rainbow

I advertised on FreeCycle.com for clothes...and I got a lot! I was only in 16's and 14's for a couple of months, so it was nice that I didn't spend a lot of money on that!

I also reccomend shopping at 2nd hand stores. I go about once a month trade the old stuff in and then I buy a new wardrobe form'30 bucks. I am amazed at how much better the selection gets as the sizes get smaller. Keep up the good work.

I agree - I bought a bunch of clothes from a fellow sleever from my weight loss center, AND 2 of my sisters sent me clothes - I'm swamped in clothes, and have nothing to wear!! So much of it is fall/winter clothes, or too small right now.. And the things that fit me NOW are still fall and winter! Plus, I am a 'comfort' girl.... Don't wear dresses or skirts, and I like to wear short sleeve knit (stretchy) tops.. I think I am a major creature of habit!! I plan on listing some things on Ebay soon, and/or putting things on my online yard sale sites that are on Facebook!
Then, I will have some money to buy some of the shirts that I normally wear!

I've also found some adorable things at Goodwill for smaller sized people. I can find amazing things in size Sm, Med, and Large!

I am making my first trip to the 2nd hand store to sell some clothes today and then donate whatever they don't take. I feel lucky that I wear scrubs to work. They are very forgiving but have finally gotten rid of all my 2x ones and broke down and bought a large ( even scrub start to look ridiculously baaggy after awhile. Good luck to everyone!

I work from home, but go into the office a few times a month. It is impossible to keep a good fitting pair of slacks around, my size/shape is changing too fast. I have a couple of nice tops, one of them is quite slimming and is longer. It covers my butt and belly so my baggy slacks don't look too bad. I think dresses are another good idea.

I bought some 18 (regulars, not W) but before I got to wear them, they were too baggy! I am definately learning to buy very little.
