I had my gastric sleeve done on 4/16/2012 and I have only lost about 50lbs, I feel like I am not eating hardly anything....but the weight seems to be coming off soooo slowly is this normal? How did everyone elses weight come off, slow of fast?
A pound a day i about what they told me to expect so i think you're doing FANTASTIC!!! The sleeve surgery helps you loose the weight much more slowly than the RNY which is one of the reasons i chose it.
You're doing much better than average! As far as clothes, I don't know why but it happens all of a sudden. I dropped 60 lbs before I changed sizes. I think it's because the larger sizes are so roomy.....
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.
My surgery was the same day as yours and I am down 32lbs so I would say that you are doing BETTER than average...... I am happy with a slower weight loss... It gives my body and skin the time it needs to bounce back. Are you counting any pre-op weight loss?? If that's the case I am down 50 as well and 3 clothing sizes.
Good Luck!
You are doing good! I can't see any reason to be concerned at all! Your weight loss is good! Don't get discouraged. Those pants will be falling off of ya soon enough!
I had my surgery on 4/17/12, and have lost -63 lbs from my highest, and -53 lbs counting from the start of the pre-op diet. So, it seems like we are all losing at about the same rate! Good to know! I don't want to lose so super fast, either.. Not healthy for your body, I don't think.
My clothes are big, too! .. I NEVER dry my clothes in the dryer, and just recently, I put my jeans in there to dry, and it helped shrink them a bit!! I put my shirts in there til almost dry, and I'll see if that helps, too.. Crazy, I know, but I never wanteddd them to shrink before, so I always just hung them to air dry in the laundry room!
