Default On the sleeved side of life...

So far so good. Haven't needed anymore than an antiinflammatory so far this morning and I've been up for 3 hours. All I can say about waking up in recovery is man that gas pain was no fun. As soon as it was controlled (before I left there) I was a much happier camper and it's been pretty smooth sailing. Opening your eyes and not seeing anything but an unfocused mess of the room is crazy. Hahaha. I thought "ok I'm not this blind without my glasses".

I've been walking, peeing, and enjoying my ice chips. I just can't wait to pass gas, I know it's going to feel amazing! Hahaha

I felt the same way passing gas never sound so good lol. The more you walk the better it gets. I even took some gas X pills once I got to the point where I could/should be taking vitamins.

Michelle, you can take anti inflammatories? What are you taking? I had to go off Celebrex for at least two months until my sleeve could handle NSAIDS and my joints are killing me!

Congrats! That is so awesome! I hope the gas goes away quickly. When I had my gallbladder out of few years back the gas part was awful! I wish you lots of luck, look forward to posts on how you are doing

I didn't have any gas pains after surgery but the following 2 weeks or so when I did pass gas, (the natural way)...it was quite odiferous which I chalked up to all the protein shakes. Ha! You gotta laugh at yourself and everyone around you has to understand. I had a very bad gas attack though 2 weeks after surgery in my office. My secretary thought I was having a heart attack. It went away though within a few hoursand my doctor confirmed that's what it was. Crazy, I know. Good luck with your continued recovery and keep us posted on how you're doing.

KT5365, I was referring to the toradol they we giving me in the hospital. I believe the only thing I can take now is Tylenol. But its already in the hydrocodone so I don't take it.

On a different note I started passing gas today. My mom, sister, and husband would hear me break wind, giggle, then apologize because it felt good and would happen again. Hahaha

I was prescribed liquid pain killers - yuk - and some to shove up an unmentionable place. I used the latter and they worked. Gas is sooooo normal, and it comes in all kinds of sounds and, dare I say it, smells. Good thing my husband loves me because, right now, I'm not the most romantic person to be around!
