Hello all I'm new here. It looks like I will have a surgery date of June 10th with Dr. Alamanza. I would love to hear from anyone that saw him for their sleeve. I'm very excited for this new chapter in my life and mildly nervous. I hope to get to know you all.

Welcome Mande, I have not had surgery yet, is will be next week and it is not with the same doctor but as someone else said before me, I have heard nothing but good things about him and the experience. Good luck

Hello, I had my surgery last July with Dr. Almanza. I don't know if you've seen where it actually happens, it's a clinic in a strip mall. I knew going in what it looked like and talked to MANY of his patience so I was fine. The clinic is clean, the staff was professional and the recover house was fine. I brought a lap top, Kindle and my cell phone, all were left out all day with no issues. I have lost 85 pounds and my life could not be better. I thank God each day for this surgery. I used Louise Johnson as my contact and she was INCREDIBLE. I can't say enough about how awesome she was. You are going to be fine, your life will be better than you thought possible. I am so happy for and excited for you!!!

Thank you everyone. IrishGirl I'm so glad you mentioned that. The only reason I knew what to expect was a youtube video. Thank goodness because I would have insisted I be taken back across the border if that were a surprise. So glad to have a community like this as well to share information. Thanks again everyone.

I hope so too. Have any of you that used Dr. Almanza gone by yourself? I'm thinking of doing that so my hubby doesn't have to take time off and I don't have to make arrangements for the kids.

I had Dr. Almanza on 2/28/12. I was totally satisfied with the care and the results have been amazing. I travelled alone and I was fine. Best advice I could give someone is follow and read all your paperwork. Follow the pre op diet and your recovery will be much easier. Good luck.
