Even if there was harm done...too late now...
12 days is a little soon to be eating bread. I think I waited two months and then I toasted it for a few months. Now, I eat half a sandwich on whole grain maybe a few times a week.

If you feel ok, dont worry!! you're ok. What you should be careful of is eating too much carbs, because the weight loss won't be the same.

You shouldn't advance your diet without your docs permission. Mine gave me the green light to try small amounts of whatever I wanted one month post-op. Just try to hang on until then. You could do some serious damage otherwise.

Bread is like red meat it takes a long time to digest, like anything you can ball up in your fist that takes time to unfold it should be avoided. you are eating solids too early and so I think you need to go back to your docs advice and revert to liquids and mushy foods etc. You have had major surgery don't mess it up with trying to force the wrong foods on your new stomach take your time giving yourself time to heal.

I agree with Santy. You need to follow your dr / NUT food guidelines post surgery. You could mess up your sleeve or cause something to appen to the sleeve. I'll bet if you call your dr now and ask if it was OK to eat bread he would not think it is a good idea.

Agreed Santy. It's how you eat your bread. Surely it's okay if you have a piece of toast (which is bread)?

I still don't do well with bread, plus if I eat it there's no room left in my tummy for any protein. 12 days out is kinda quick to be eating any solids, much less bread. I think you should check with your doctor.

I agree Tim that toast is really much easier to eat than bread but at twelve days only liquids should be consumed according to my doc. Having said that some people on here seem to eat what they like when they like which amazes me after having major surgery!
