    Default One Week out - all protein/liquids in

    I don't know if I'm overdoing it or not but was able to get all my required 90 gr of protein in today along with finally, 64 oz. of fluids. I'm one week after surgery as of today. Am I going too fast? Is my stomach going to stretch on me? Things are going down pretty well with just a little bit of twinge now and then. Any comments from the veterans? Thanks so much!

    Hi =)
    I am two weeks post op and was worried about the same thing. I am able to get all the liquids and protein in with no problems after 1 week out too. I was worried that maybe he did not remove enough of my stomach, or did I stretch it out?? I saw my Doc today and he said to follow the 2oz to 3oz per 15min and also to keep in mind that as the swelling goes down the water or liquids can pass through more quickly. I know when I drink protein drinks, it takes me 1 hour to drink it because it makes me feel full compare to the water. Looks like we are blessed and healling up nicely. Best wishes to you on your new journey. =)

    It's a struggle for me also. I still can't imagine being able to get 90 g of protein in! My doc said 65g if sufficient and that is tough. I had to build up to that. It's best to take it easy, you don't want to put too much weight against your sleeved tummy too soon. best of luck to you!!

    Have you tried liquid protein(isopure). I found out that I couldnt tolerate the shake(powder) that well in the beginning. Once I switched I easily met my goal.

    I'm a week out too and can barely get in 18 oz. of water and if I'm lucky 10-15 oz of protein. I'm scared I'm going to have the opposite affect and not lose because my body goes into starvation mode. I haven't weighed myself, I don't even own a scale so I guess I'll know more when I go in for my 2 week follow up.

    Good luck everyone!

    I wrote a n d questioned my dr he said as u heal u can drink more and easier. This does not stretch the pou c h out at all. That happens when u eat more than 4 oz of food at a meal. Good luck to all.
