Preop diet helllll...

I only have three days of preop liquid diet.. not hard right? OMG wrong. I smell EVERYTHING. Of course my kids are eating mexican food tonight, one of the best smells in the world. I keep wanting to say screw it and EAT! Help........ Surgery is Wed. Feels like forever, how did you guys do this???

I start my pre op diet tomorrow and my surgeon requires 14 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! uggggghhhhhh~

OMGoodness... I am SOO sorry. Im sure youll do better than I am.. youll do GREAT. Thank goodness for friends on this forum. GOOD luck.. both of you.

You guys can all do this! I had a 3 week all liquid preop diet right over the Christmas holidays and New Years. We also spent a week on vacation during that time. I never-not even once-swayed from my diet, and it was the strength I needed to prove I am capable of handling stress without going to food for help. You also have to know that your doctors give you that order for a reason. Your body needs to be prepared for surgery. Be strong. It isn't always easy, but you will be so proud of your own strength, willpower, and the results! Good luck! You can check out the earlier parts of my blog to read about my liquid diet journey.

I did it for 10 days..............even sat in a restaurant while others ate. I don't really understand it............but was not hungry at all with the preop and even now with starting to eat. I know that I am fortunate....many others have had concerns and problems with preop. You have made this decision so just go for it......................its still new for me but I know it will be worth it!!!!! there is a lot of support and info here!!!! Welcome

I'm on day 6 of pre-op... I have struggles but after day 3 it gets easy... I drink a campells soup hand drinks when i feel like i really need food... I have 9 days to go..

I had 14 days pre-opt found it difficult as the lactose intolerance that I had as a child slowly got worse to full blown by the time I had finished my 14 days. I was allowed a bowl of veggies or a salad for lunch and dinner, plus two pieces of fruit for me this was my godsend, though I even barf at the idea of a shake these days. I had my surgery done on the 16/02/12.

I onlyheave 1 day of preop diet and I'm doing okay. I agree everything smells so do good. My surgery is in the morning at 5:30am.
