    Default Plateau so early

I am 12 weeks out and lost about 42 so far. I still have 40 at least to go at 180! The last 2 weeks I lost nothing and I've been committed to working out 4+ days a week for a month!! Frustrated and worried I'm done losing ?? Is this normal? Anyone else experience this?? God I hope I lose more!!

It is just your first stall. Depends on what you lost pre-op..If you lost alot it happens sooner for some.
You will have many...calm down and just keep on doing everything you are doing and there is NO WAY you can't lose.
I had one stall last almost 5 weeks..
By the way I am from the Seattle area too.. Des Moines..

Thanks that is reassuring. I'm eating well and exercising a lot! Don't get how I could not lose 1lb. I was 224 preop now about 180 182. Good to know you are close. Stay away from the riots. Dumb people!

I have a few tricks I use when I plateau....I saw it on Dr Oz that fluctuating calories throws your body off and can increase weightloss, so I add an EXTRA protein shake into my day after a weeklong plateau....then that night I also make sure to get no less than 9 hours of sleep....It might just be coincedence, but I think not - it's worked everytime....like 4 times now

It may just be working for me, but give it a try - what have you got to lose (except weight?)

Can you tell me what you eat in a typical day please? I want to see if I'm track. How many protein shakes do you have a day or week? I have not had one now for weeks. Am I suppose to keep it up? Thanks! And you do look awesome! Very inspiring! I'm trying to upload some before and after pics too.

It's normal to have stalls.....Some last longer than others but as long as you are not gaining weight that is a plus....I am at a stall right now...I am almost 5 months post op....this is not my first stall....It will pass....I workout 5-6 days a week with 40 mins of cardio and 10-15 minutes of strength training and eat no less than 70 grams of protein a day and no more than 800 calories after working out and I still have not lost a pound in over a week....I am losing inches....so that's a good thing...be patient it shall pass....

You are only 12 weeks out so I am sure you are not done losing. Keep the carb low, eat protein, exercise will break the stall.
    (Goal!!! Maintenance Lane!)

Do you track on my fittnesspal ? I am on there and my name is soon2change. You can veiw my daily diary on there.
I eat egss, cheese, yogurt things like that for breakfast, chicken or leftover dinner for lunch.. Dinner I eat the meat of whatever I make my family and a few veggies if I have room. I don't have issues eating anything. I don't do shakes as I get all my protien from food.
Thanks for the compliment..Funny thing is that picture is pre-op . I haven't had a new one since losing..

Julie so nice to hear someone else not doing shakes and getting their protein from proper food. I really think this consuming of shakes is part of the problem, to eat a balanced diet using fresh produce is the way to go in providing us with the proper nutrients.
Don't worry Punky keep to your diet and perhaps as John suggests sleep more as this is something that I have read about too and it could be true!

I didn't hate the shakes ..they just didn't make me feel like I ate anything.
I had a personal trainer a few years ago that said our bodies don't use the protien shakes as well as "real" protien from food.. i always remember that and feel so much better using food for my protien.

I try to eat 5 small meals a day.

I start every morning with 8 oz of milk mixed with a scoop of Body Fortress Chocolate Whey protein powder total like 34g protein and like 10g carbs.

About 2 hours later I have one of the following: 6 oz Greek Chobani Yogurt, 2 hard boiled eggs, or 2 cooked eggs with cheese (scrambled or fried)

Around noon I have some cold cuts rolled up, a Wendy's chili, or some tuna fish...

around 3 its an Atkins protein meal replacement bar either chocolate and peanut butter or chocolate cookie dough...like 15g protein and 3g net carbs

At dinner time I have whatever protein the family has like chicken or beef or fish

I'm not counting calories yet, but I will be soon - I had so much to lose originally...When I plateau I add a protein shake or take longer in am to consume 12 oz with 2 scoops

    Hi Punky,
You might considering contacting your nutritionalist. I have Jen and she has really given me good advice. I noticed that when my weight loss started slowing down, she suggested a few things and the rate of loss increased! Basically, the "change it up" advice really does seem to work. She also coached me alot on "listening" to my body and I found that I started eating LESS then when I premeasureed everything!
