Pea soup is smooth and high in protein. I also eat a "fried" egg over easy evey morning for breakfast--I use cooking spray, not oil. I am also unable to get doen a lot of meat items and I'm a bit ahead of you with my surgery date.

Try eating meatloaf with very low fat gravy. Be sure to measure out no more than 1/4 per meal. Make sure you make the meatloaf so that it is moist.
Also try some oatmeal but make sure it is runny! Try drinking 6-8 oz. of skim milk a day, a soft cheese, cottage cheese, soups...I love tomato soup so I took a can of the healthy choice and added a can of skim milk and a tablespoon of olice oil and whisk that . It was amazingly rich tasting and very good. I only had 1/4 cup per setting and I am a day aways from being 7 weeks post op and have lost 40 pds.

Everybody stalls around 2-3 weeks post op, so don't be discouraged. This link explains the "why".
    Weight Loss Stall or Plateau

Also looks like you have lost weight preop, which is awesome, but you do need to consider that too when you look at the overall results. The body just can't keep dropping weight at a super fast rate forever.

It does take a while for your tummy to really get back to normal - maybe 6-8 or more weeks so don't be discouraged - back off new foods if they don't agree with you early on. i am estatic with my progress now, but the first two months were not alot of fun.

So, by the eating plan I was given, you are too early out to be trying to eat most meats. How do you do with soft foods perhaps mushy tuna salad or something? Again, don't push it, be gentle on your new sleeve. I would be focusing on the greek yogurt, soft foods like tuna or chicken salad that sort of thing.

And in answer to your question - what am I doing to lose weight? I am following the instructions I was given to the best of my abilities. That means, protein first, followed by veggies - very limited carb type foods. Trying very hard to not overeat, stop before being "full." I don't track anymore, but I used to use myfitnesspal.com to really track my food and make sure I was getting enough protein. Drink lots of water and never drink with meals - I try to give about an hour between eating and drinking but my instructions said at least 30 minutes. As time goes on and I get stronger, I keep adding more activity and exercise. I started out just walking about 20-30 minutes a day and now do much more intense activities. I am a person who hasn't been able to really lose weight over the last 2-3 years but I am very happy with the rate of loss since the surgery.

I started my preop diet on Nov 30th, surgery Dec 12th. Here is my monthly loss so far - I don't know if this is typical, but I am happy with it.

    Dec -28#
    Jan -12.8#
    Feb -12.4#
    Mar - 9.4#
    April (so far) -12#
308# 12/1/2011 Start of Preop Diet
300# 12/12/11 Lapband to Sleeve revision
    158# Feb 2013 - GOAL lost 150# 14 months post op
150# 10/14/2013 - Plastics Dr Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico; removed 5.5# of skin
140# Apr 2014 - maintaining 168# weight loss currently. Very happy with my sleeve and plastics results!

Do not get discouraged! You have to remember that you just had MAJOR surgery. Your body has just gone through a major shock and it is going to take time for your body to catch up. I hit several stalls in my first few weeks after surgery. It is completely normal. Our body goes into "protective" mode because you are not eating as much as you use to. Do not give up!!

I had my surgery on feb 16th. I think it is too earlie for meat . I only can eat a very small amount of meat. I ate some BBQ chicken yesterday felt full then I took a drink that made it too much and lost it. Be careful drinking after meals if you take a drink take slips. And make sure you chew it up very good. I eat the small smart dinners in the frozen food section in the store. Most of them only have 200 to 300 calories.most of them i even cannot finish them. For breakfest I eat 2 eggs and a small sauage pattie. It will take time. If I can help anymore let me know

I would try some purees - those are going to be easier to tolerate, and you want them to be very, very moist. I started with canned tuna and canned chicken with light mayo, just blend in a blender or food processor (I use a food processor). That went down very easy, and I started adding seasonings to vary the flavor. I also found fat-free refried beans, blended smooth, to be very easy on my tummy. They aren't as high in protein as the tuna and chicken, but they were very soothing warmed up. Just be sure to take tiny amounts of anything in one bit and space the bites out so you can monitor the stomach's reaction to each one.

Once your stomach heals a bit more, you can try adding in soft foods (basically the stuff you can puree, but you don't have to puree it).
    Good luck!!

Cowgirljane said everything I was thinking when I read your post...I'll just say to illustrate her point that I had my surgery two days before yours. I lost 30lbs before and lost 10lbs immediately after. Then nothing. Nada, zip, zero, zilch until this last Friday when the scale finally started dropping again. I stalled for close to three weeks and was going CRAZY thinking I was the one person that found some way to screw this up... It'll happen for you...just follow your plan and trust your sleeve to let you know whats right for you. Meat products not agreeing with you just might mean your tummy isn't ready to take them on just yet...Good luck to you
