I hit 2 HUGE milestones last week. First, I finally broke the 200 mark!! I am down to 197....wooohooo!!!!
Then, the other has a little story to it; When I was going through my process of getting approved for surgery, I was asked to name 3 things I wanted to do after I lost weight. My #1 goal was to be able to ride a roller coaster with my sons. I love amusement parks, but I have been too fat to ride anything for years. My husband is terrified of roller coasters. My sons have been itching to ride one forever, but wouldn't do it alone. So....last week we went on a family vacation and ended up at Legoland in Florida. I was able to ride 4 roller coasters with my sons. It was surreal, as the lap bar came down I had so much anxiety that it wouldn't latch. But I heard the click, and when we took off I began to tear up. Afterwards, my older son told me he was proud of me for getting skinny enough to ride rides with him.
Don't get me wrong, every milestone has mattered. I love shopping in the regular stores, I love not being shy on the beach, I love being able to have arms wrap around me when I am hugged. But nothing will compare to the joy and pride I felt being able to reach a goal I have had for 10 years.
