Just starting my journey

I have recenly started the pre-op journey. I have not decided on which surgery I want to get. The gastric sleeve or the gastric bypass. I am 5'6 and weigh 264 lbs. I eat small portions but binge on snacks. Which surgery do you suggest and why? I look forward to reading your responses

Hello!! This is a great place to gather information. I had the Lap-band in 2006 and lost a bunch of weight, it slipped and then I regained everything plus some (well plus a lot). I had the same debate with myself! I was most worried about the vitamin retention. I have been anemic for many years, so bad that I needed iron infusions. That scared me, I went with the sleeve and would recommend it to anyone who asked! I was 311 on surgery day and weigh in at 249 now. I also recommend you take your measurements before you start, I did and have lost 47 inches, it's unreal!!

I have so many questions about the sleeve process. I hope you can help me. I have only went to my initial appointment. I have an imaging appointment tomorrow. What will this intail? I am most nervous of all the unknown. I appreciate any help you can give me. I also have my first appointment with a dietician tomorrow. Talking about my weight is very uncomfortable for me. Is there any specific questions I should be prepared to answer? Thanks fir any advice you can give.
