Always thought calcium was a good idea but it's not. The studies now show that the harm that calcium does far outweighs the good it might do. Drs are now being told in their medical seminars that their patients should not be on calcium supplements. I started taking calcium about 4 years ago and after about a year had a terrible bout with kidney stones. I thought I was going to die. It was the calcium I had been taking. Never had a problem before that with stones and since I quit, I've not had a problem. Be careful with the calcium
Supposedly for every hip fracture it may help, it causes many more heart attacks and kidney stone hospitalizations.

I take a chewy multi-vitamin, biotin twice a day, iron, B12 and Vitamin D. I am also taking DHEA at my Dr's suggestion. I take most of my vitamins in the morning with my protein shake but save the iron until bedtime as it tends to make me nauseous.

I have pernicious anemia, my body does not absorb B12, so I take it daily. I also run low on D. I take a tablet(very small) and try to get 10 - 15 mins in the sun every day. C will help you absorb iron. An acid food, tomato or citrus will also help you absorb iron.

I get the b12 injection w/lipo weekly. My doctor recommended to me years ago. That want be a problem for me. I also have the b-complex pill.

I found chewable B12 vitamin that actually tastes pretty good. Heck NO I will not be getting shots....I'll digest mine orally

Lol...believe it or not but I hate needles. But the needle for the injection is soooo small. Only thing I feel is the think med going thru.

I was taking Celebrate Sublingual B-12 (cherry flavored), but now that I know it's not Kosher, I'm looking for an alternative sublingual, since that's apparently what we sleevers need.

Pre natal multi vitamin is what my dietician and surgeon suggested for me, as they are better absorbed through the stomach and you dont end up peeing out the stuff you need! Also liquid Calcium supplement is a must. I find this works for me and is what my team suggested. I go for my first set of blood work this month.Can't believe its been 6 months!

Good to know. I have one kidney and I do not want to compromise it!

What chewable multi vitamin do you recommend? Which sublingual b-12 do you recommend?

I take daily-
2 Centrum multi vitamins
2 Prenatal (for hair, skin & nail)
2 Caltrate 600 D3
10,000 mcg Biotin
10,000 mcg B-12
All my blood work always turns out really well. This combo has worked great for me. Most of these are chewables.

At the vitamin shop, they carry a liquid b12 complex specifically designed for bariatric patients. And it tastes goid too. Its called bariatric support super b complex. And I take organic life liquid vitamins.
