Hi everyone
I recently (16th) celebrated my 6 month surgiversary. Let me start out by saying this is the best thing I have ever done for me. It hasn't all been plain sailing but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
My highest weight last summer was 256. Surgery I was 248. Today I weighed in at 182, with a total weightloss of 74lbs. Wow! I'm stunned!
Starting BMI was 37.8, today it's 26.9.
Clothes were 20W/22W and XXL tops. O.M.G today I bought a pair of Levi's size 11 juniors and medium tops.
I have lost a total of 33.5 inches the biggest loss being in my waist. I went from a 46 to a 33 waist. I measured about 2 weeks ago so that may have changed too. I have a few pairs of jeans a friend gave me. Size 31 Abercrombie & Fitch, they fit amazingly.
I can't believe that sometime next month I will be in single digits to my goal weight. I am currently 13lbs from goal! My weightloss was slower than I expected but I'm so pleased with the results, that I don't care how long it takes me to get to goal. I know I'll get there sometime.
I did lose a ton of hair, even with all the protein. I'm still losing hair but I chopped off about 8-10 inches and it looks much fuller and healthier now. Exercise has been the bain of my life but I know I need to do it. I promise myself to be more active as soon as tax season ends, lol!
Food is a total non issue for me. I have to remind myself to eat most times. I still try and do a protein shake once a day. I eat what I want in moderation. I still have a problem with dense foods but I think I have an esophageal stricture but we (my pcp and I) will only look at it after I reach my goal weight. Lol, I use it as an additional tool to my sleeve now.
In a nutshell, I survived MX surgery, bad gas and chest spasms, h pylori, gallbladder removal after 3 months, vomiting, slimies, fainting and low BP amongst some other stuff, but YES, I'd do it all again.
I love my sleeve.
