I'd really like to get something off my chest here, and it has nothing to do with Dr Almanza, or the care there, or the surgery, since I'm still preop. I have no comments on that.
What really bothers me is that someone comes here and makes FLAGRANTLY homophobic and prejudicial remarks. Worrying about getting AIDS because the doctor or the nurse are gay (first off, who ever said they had AIDS in the first place?) is an absolutely ridiculous remark. Anyone who knows anything about AIDS knows you can't get AIDS because your doctor or nurse is gay. Unless they happen to bleed on an open wound, stick you with a needle they've used themselves, or have sex with you, you'd never be in any risk. Not using gloves is no risk. A lot of doctors don't use them for exams, and unless they are putting their hands into your body orifices, you are not risk.
I just watched the Dateline on TV tonight where kids were tested to see if they were influenced by other people's racial profiling. The person posting those things above is profiling Dr. Almanza and his staff based on their PERCIEVED sexual orientations.
I just had to come and take a stand against this behavior, which I consider to be abhorrent. And I'm not afraid to post my name with my thoughts.
