New to forum... Just went for consultation.

I've been thinking about having a gastric sleeve for the 12 months now. I made an appointment about three months ago and cancelled. Last Monday I went to meet with the general surgeon. I have to do the three months of prep work for insurance. I currently weigh 240 pounds at 5'4. I am anxious about the decision, but after reading the forum excited. Any words of wisdom or suggest it reads for the next three months?

After 1 complete year I can say that this was the best thing I ever did for myself. My goal was quite similar to yours and I am happy to say I am almost there. I know that I could be there if I would exercise. Wishing you the best, but remember there will be times when you question "WHY", just stay focused on your goal.

I spent a lot of time on this forum. There is a wealth of knowledge within these walls. I think the experiences of real life people far outweighs the research papers. Don't get me wrong, research everything, but I found more of my information here.

Just start preparing yourself mentally for the change, that is the biggest hurdle.
