I'm back on Metformin, throwing up, trying to do a liquid diet (again). My son just had the sleeve and is doing great! (YEA!!) I have never heard anything bad about this surgery. Are there people that wish they had never had it? I'm 63. I've had 4 lower abdominal surgeries, and laproscoptic gall bladder surgery. I, like most of you, am desperate.

No, I haven't had it. My Dr. has scared me to death about it BUT he is very, very conservative. My son has done great but of course he's 27 years younger!! Thank you for replying to me so FAST!!!!

I didn't have any comorbidities, I was just fat, lol! Hopefully, someone with diabetes will respond here with regards to the surgery and reversing the diabetes. I have heard some very positive stories about that as well as reversing other comorbidities. Best wishes on your journey.

OK here's the deal. I can't stop eating too much!! I am supposed to be on a liquid diet (nothing connected to the sleeve). I do great one day horrible the next. If I am an emotional eater is there hope for me with thew sleeve?

If you feel your Dr. is overly conservative about this procedure, is he/she a bariatric surgeon or a G.P.? possible 2nd opnion may be in the wind? maybe your Doc knows something we don't? On this site most folks by far have had a reasonable experience, However as with anything, there are horror stories out there. 63 is not to old but then again your health history may bare out that it may not be recommended. Who knows?
