When can I start driving?

I wonder when I can start driving. I had my gallbladder removed and sleeve surgery on 2/29 I forgot to ask my Dr when I can start driving.

What were you told or when did you start driving again?

If you're not on pain medicine, as soon as you are comfortable to drive, you may do so.

I drove on day 9, a bit over an hour back and forth to the hospital to get my drain removed.
Bring your liquids and snacks with you! Since you can't eat much at a time, even driving will drain you a bit.
I remember sitting in the parking lot eating a few Tbls of yogurt before I drove home because I was so tired..

Thanks everyone. I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow but my Dr is only a half mile or less from my house. So guess I'm good to drive myself.

I started driving with someone with me on Monday. Venturing out by myself today.

When I had my sleeve surgery, they told me as soon as I was off pain meds I could drive. But when I had my gallbladder removed I had some staples in because the gallstone was so big, and I was not cleared to drive until after the staples were removed.

I drove myself from Salt Lake City Int. Airport, to home 200 miles away 4 days after surgery. I felt fine driving. only minor discomfort. However, I didn't have gallbladder surgery.

I would wait a couple of days but I wasn't told anything about driving. It turned out that I didn't drive until I got home (6days) and it felt weird but I thing that had to do with being in Mexico and San Diego combined with being driven around.

I was told I could drive 24 hours after I had taken the last dose of pain medicine.

I had surgery on Wednesday and waited until Tuesday to drive. I wasn't taking any pain meds other than the q-pump I went home with and that came out Saturday. However, until about Tuesday I was feeling rather tired and a little weak. By Tuesday I felt much stronger and was able to drive without a problem and run a few errands as well.
