How long did you take to recover? I have a very active job and also drive for work. I have been told I wont be able to drive for 4 to 6 weeks just in case I can't do an emergency stop!!
How long should I organise to take off work??

Maybe the law is different in the UK. If you have had major abdominal surgery then you are not covered to drive under your insurance just in case you are unable to do an emergency stop in the UK
Sounds like a very prudent law. Sounds like you need 6 wks off to me. That's about when most of us can get back to regular exercise, albeit slowly. I was swimming 30 min at a time by then. If you are going to do a lot of heavy lifting, you might want to go back on drs note for partial work for another 2 wks. Not sure what kind of active job you have. It's more about your inner incisions (which are a lot bigger than the little outer ones) healing up fully so you don't end up with problems.
