I think I'm leaking...

Okay, so I have tricare prime which is military insurance where I don't pay anything as long as I go to my assigned doctor, well I'm 2 states away from that & think I'm leaking but I want to be sure before I do anything about it. Everything was fine & doing great I got my surgery jan 30th, I had to leave town for family problems & the way here & first day here everything was great, I was up for over 12 hours though & was in mostly a sitting position when I went from mostly laying all day,. I also ate all the recomended meals too for the first time normally I'd only eat 1 or 2 lil things & that was it,. Well I was eating sitting on the couch & I felt like the popping pain, & I started to get pain like the 5th day after surgery kind of pain. Real sharp & bad on the lower left,. I've rested up for 2 to 3 days & I woke up after 13 hours of resting & felt great, had some food started the pain again & its not pain from eating like air bubles & burps, its like sharp & middle to lower left, then after the food settled I drank some water & the pain got really bad again as I walked to go lay down. I am noticing when I eat or drink I'm getting pain that feels its muscle & inscision pain.. Not like the neasuea when I first started eating food.. Is this normal? Or does it sound like a leak?

I think I would go and get checked out just to be sure. A leak is nothing to wait on, if you feel that you have changed and for the worse, get to the ER soon. Hopefully someone might have some wisdom for you, I hope you are ok. Hang in there!

Is it your gallbladder? Like Tabby said, you should get it checked out....Let us know what happens..Hope all is OK.

Gallbladder is on the right side under the ribs. I would get it checked out.

just my thought you said its lower left d is sharp,pluse you have been doing alot of sitting and laying.what has your water in take been like?after surgery like that you should be up and active sittingnd lying down with lack of water can be sever cramping in the muscle.does it hurt to touch?i would realy go to ER they have to take you in and under ur provider i think ur coverd.if it opened im told ull have signs lik and ulser vomiting high fever do to the acid leaking.i hope u go to ER or call ur doctor asap and let us know how you make out........feel better

Symptoms of a leak are shortness of breath, rapid heart beat, palpitations. Doesn't sound like a leak, just standard post op stuff.

I have Tricare as well. You are covered to go to an emergency room. Please, do not wait. Better to be safe than sorry. Best wishes to you, hope you feel better soon.

I took mirilax a few days ago, & had a huge BM.. It was a first one in weeks...so I don't think I'm backed up, & I don't have a fever,... So maybe it is just post op stuff, I just find it weird its muscle pain only when I eat or drink.. I'm going to see I think I am going to go to hospital tomorrow.

My guess is gall bladder. Before I had mine removed years ago, I had a lot of pain on the left side (never on the right, it was like displaced pain or whatever) and it circled around to my back sometimes. Hope you are feeling better soon!

YOu can go to your local ER with tricare prime and wont get a bill. We have it and I always go to outside hospitals and doctors and have never received a bill only on Tricare Standard do you have copay or a bill that will show up later on. It doesn't sound like a leak, just normal surgery pains but if in doubt go to the er.

I had some pain in the lower left side. My doctor explained it was where a stitch was taken into the muscle (I think is what he said). He said it was a normal pain and would go away. Before you go to hospital, call your doctor's office and talk with them. They can tell you if you need to have it checked out wait a couple of days. Better to be safe than sorry and have it checked out but call your doctor first. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hey sorry been busy, I let it go, took some pain meds, and waited,.. and it went away after a few days like everyone said, Sorry to get everyone worried, I just really swore it was a leak,.. but now, I have been stuck at 206 for about 2 weeks, and cant figure out why, I keep dropping between 205 to 207.. Its driving me nuts, I will go down to 205 and the next day I am back up again!... I don't know why!! but thanks for the concern, guess I over reacted..
