Hair loss question 3+ months out peeps!!!

Ok so I've asked before but if some of the 3 month out and more sleevers can tell me their experience with the hair loss I'd appreciate it. I've read some that say they are pulling it out by the handfull and this scares the crap out of me. Please please tell me about your hair loss experience. How much did you lose and over how long of a period?

Had my surgery Oct 8th and I haven't noticed any more hair loss than before surgery - but I've been faithful to taking the recommended amount of Biotin and CoQ10 each day, as well as high protein/low carb...So I haven't noticed any negative impacts with hair loss. If anything the supplements are making my hair & nails longer, healthier and shinier. I'm happy with both right now.

Thank you so much for your input. What is CoQ10? How much do you take of that and Biotin a day. I'm a huge vitamin taker so I'll definately be getting my vitamins in but maybe I should go buy these other two also. My doctor hasn't been much help with what I should take.

I am 3 months out and no hair loss yet.. I take biotin and zinc. And eat high protien 90-100g a day.
I have fingers crossed it won't happen...

I began loosing my hair at about 4-5 months but its been nothing drastic at all, just a little thinning. I'm now at 6 months and it looks like its beginning to stop so I'm not bothered. I changed my shampoo and conditioner to ones to add body and that has helped and I also only towel dry very gently and then let it dry on its own, but you cant do much about it either way so I try not to let it bother me. Hope yours will be ok

i'm nearly a year out now and yes mine did fall out but i didnt go bald it just went thin. Again like previous posts up your protein and vitamins, get some specific for nails, hair coz they help. I've just had a visit to my hairdresser and she has told me that finally my hair is growing thicker. So don't worry to much it gets there in the end...

I had super, super thin and fine hair before surgery, but I think it's gotten thicker since, and I'm 6 months out. I think I eat more protein than I did before, and the supplements are really helpful -- B12, biotin, inositol, and gelatin.

I am current;y about 3 months out and I have noticed a big difference in the amount of hair loss. My hair has always been kind of thin and after having four kids it really started falling out but not at this point post surgery, the hair loss has been a bit more than usual. I do take in plenty protien usually but I do nto take any supplements other than a b complex and a multi vitamin so this could be the reason. I am looking into getting some biotin, I here it really helps with strengthening the hair and nails so I will try it. Even if you do have some hair loss, it is not the worst thing in the world. you dont go bald or have bald spots like most fear--it is just thinner than your usual hair and it will eventually grow back stronger once your body has gotten used to the change in nutrition.

I am 4 months out. I have very thick and coarse hair. I noticed my hair coming out 1 month ago, but it's not by the handful. I've taken 5000 mg of biotin since the day after surgery, and I think that it, along with meeting my protein goal every day, has helped. I am 5 foot 5 and my nutritionist (through my surgeons office) told me to eat 60-68 grams of protein) per day. I also drink 2 cups of Hoods skim milk per day and 1 yogurt to meet those goals. However, I think what helped me more is - I only wash my hair every 3 days now (down from everyday) I use Clinicure by Joico as my shampoo and conditioner, and I don't scrub as hard when washing or brush as much when drying. It's really helped not handling as much, and now that I'm not eating as much fat, my skin is actually dry (for the first time in my life). Good luck, but it's totally worth it, and I would say that if I lose all my hair!

I can't tell if my hair is falling out any faster than before my sleeve. I do know that my eyelashes and the hair on my legs and under my arms seem to grow like CRAZY now. Some of my friends even asked me why I had on false eyelashes ---- when I told them about the biotin they too started taking it!!! Blessings- Connie

I am 6 months out and my hair is definitely thinning. It started around 4.5 or 5 months out. I keep it short so it is only starting to be noticeable. I added biotin and folic acid supplements to my pillbox a few weeks ago and I am anxious for them to start working - at some point I'd like to grow my hair out again but right now that would just make it look thinner. Unfortunately, the hair on my legs and arms is as thick as ever!

OK-how much Biotin? I looked for inositol & gelatin and couldn't find it. So here is what I settled for: I take 2 gummies for a multi, calcium and vitamin D (I live in Alaska-lots of dark!!!). I have been taking biotin but I don't remember how much. I picked up a bottle of stuff for women that has lots of vitamin A, biotin and inositol. Just not a lot(inosotil). I also picked up some B12 and B complex. The B complex has a lot of Vitamin A. So, how much Vitamin A should we have? Is there such a thing as too much?
