Heck I even told the guy at Trader Joe's today because I wanted to try this Greek yogurt dip but I didn't want a cracker. He asked me a few questions and told me whenever I come on to look for him and let him know how things are going.
LOL, the lady at Costco told me the same thing! "Check back with me so I can see your progress!" It felt so good to have a stranger so excited for me. I only told her because I was with my MIL and she wouldn't let me lift anything out of the cart.

Lol too funny! My mom did most of my talking it does feel go have a stranger excited for you. You never know they may have someone in their life doing the same thing and they feel better seeing someone who has been there out and about, doing well. Now I don't just tell random people for the heck of it lol, but if there is a reason to tell, I'm ok with that.

Hi...I have been debating for months whether I would tell people or not. I have told one of my best friends but not other best friend. The reason I haven't told one of my best friends is because she nearly died from complications due to the lap band and worry about what she will say in regard to the sleeve. We told my in laws but they were very much against it. That kind of sucked. I've only told my closest friends at work. I don't plan to tell anyone else but I'm sure people will begin to ask questions when they see the weightloss. So right now, I won't tell anyone but who knows what I may do in the future.

TXU I can understand your position. I only told a select few and no one at work. I don't plan to tell anyone at work as I am not close enough to any of them and this is a private matter. I did this for me and my health and to get rid of my diabetes. Good luck with your surgery!

As you've seen, we all do different things. Strangely, I did the opposite of you, I did not tell my sisters or parents. They would have had a fit about me going to Mexico, so I just didn't want to deal with it with them. So, the only reason I don't tell everyone is because that will increase the chance of it getting back to them. I will share with others who I think will benefit from a g-sleeve. It's just too good not to share! When you tell people you had a tumor taken out your not lying. So, tell who you want, it's your business!!!

I only tell those that are close to me, and even then I am careful. My children don't really know and I don't want anyone else to judge me. If someone asks I am truthful, although most people ask if I had gastric by pass... Nope! I am struggling myself on when to tell someone, especially in my dating life.

This is a common thread. Look it up. I did not tell at first, but now I do. 3 people have had this sleeve done after they saw what I did. It is a life changer. This sleeve will give you back your health & life! One woman was depressed & ashamed about her weight. She did not know about the sleeve. She started crying when I told her about the sleeve. She was heavy all her life. 4 months after her sleeve she is 80 pounds down. She is happy now & her husband says she has improved 1000%. If I had not told her about this she would still be hiding in her house. Let people know when asked. You may be a example & change someones life.

Saying being overweight is like cancer is pretty harsh. My best friend and her sister both battled breast cancer last year. It was really hard to see how terrible chemo and radiation really destroys you. what about children with cancer? No comparison.
