Nervous !

Ok so my husband and I have set our date to get our sleeve done,and im as nervous as can be and that's all i can think about day and night,I wake up in the middle of the night and stay up,thinking is this really going to happen and if it does I'm i really going to loose all the weight? I get butterflies in my stomach every time i think about it,or if my husband or best friend mentions it,because No one else knows except for them.HELP IS THIS NORMAL?

It's normal, and yes you can lose all that weight. Relax and enjoy the ride. I started at 290 and am down to 200. You will be fine. Get some rest.

If it is abnormal to think about it all the time, then welcome to the club. It has been my experience that each and every one of us spend a whole lot of time obsessing on: is this really going to work? will it work for me? can I go thru with this? nothing else worked, why would this? how much is it going to hurt? will I be able to eat? the list goes on and on. Prior to my surgery I spent about 6-8 hours a day on this forum---no kidding, I wanted to know EVERYTHING. Well, what I am going to say probably sounds so simple, but honestly, after having been there done that---try to relax and enjoy this journey you are about to go on. Yes, for me the first day and 1/2 sucked big time, after that it just gets better and better and better---I LOVE THE LIFE I HAVE BEEN GIVEN. For me I had tried every diet and fad, short of sewing my lips shut. IF YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS---you too will be given a new life. Blessings- Connie

I remember about 2 weeks before my surgery, I almost had/or actually I did have a panic attack thinking about what I was about to undergo. After that, I tried to not concentrate too hard on it before my surgery. I know, easier said than done. Anyways, I am so glad I had the surgery. I started preop at 370lbs, today I weigh 237lbs. Best wishes and you will be sleeved before you know it!!!

Hello! Right up to be wheeled into surgery-I didn't think it was going to happen! So, you are joining quite a crowd-I think most of us did all the worrying too! You are in the right place for support and answers to your questions. Blessings to you both.

I understand what you are saying. My husband & I are both going to MX for our surgeries on 3-8-12! But we are going to use Dr. Kelly. We are not nervous, not yet anyway, but I do think about it constantly. We talk about it alot. Mainly me! But I must say we are more excited than anything! Just think about the positives of the outcome for you both. That's what we do. Best of Luck to you both and maybe we will see you at the airport or in MX shopping or something!!

Its normal to be nervous about any surgery, this is a big step. I am only just starting to settle down a bit now but no doubt as the date gets closer may be more anxious....especially on the day. But I know that this will give me a better life, healthier and happier. You will be fine. Now go relax.

Who doesn't think about it all the time? Its a huge part of your life. Totally normal to obsess over it. In fact, you should.
