50 lbs GONE!!!

So I reached a milestone...50 lbs!! So This is what I did....

-Treated myself to my first shopping trip since surgery. I have not purchased any new clothes until yesterday. It was way overdue...NOTHING fits anymore!! YAYYY!!!

So shopping wasn't so much a chore....I have seen so much that this is a mental change too. I was trying on clothes in my old size!! I could not believe my pants are in single digits and my tops are mediums!! But its funny that I don't see the change myself...weird I know!!

-I got a new hair cut and color...that was what I promised myself for the 50# mark!!

Everyone keeps telling me I look 10 yrs younger!! As a high school teacher, I went to work this am with new clothes and hair....I got so many compliments!! Most students said they did not even recognize me!! Many thought I was a new student..and I'm 36 yrs old!

- My daughter took a pic and posted on her Facebook saying how proud she was. (before I would not have allowed a pic to be taken!)All day she kept telling me about the 36+ likes on the pic and over 30 comments. She's very proud which is an accomplishment in it's self with a 16 yr old daughter!!

-My husband loved the new look I got!!! He has been such a great support thru this whole process but he never once thru our entire marriage called me fat or overweight or made me feel like my weight was a problem. I'm blessed to have him!

- My confidence is thru the roof!!

Those that are fresh outta surgery....it does get better!! Each day gets easier!! And as the weeks and months go by you will look back and be so proud of where you were and how you progress!!

What an awesome post! I never even thought about what reward I would give myself for 50 pounds lost. I love the idea. It's going to help me with my motivation I also teach at a high school. What do you teach? I am at an alternative school which means I teach a little of everything for now. I have 5 preps! I'm exhausted. LOL

Feels good doesn't it! I'm at 47 lbs waiting for the 50 so I can post a facebook picture for the first time. I also teach Science to middle school kids at a private school. Starting to get a lot of compliments from the kids - feels good.

Congrat to you on your milestone! Some of my clothes I had to throw out simply because I just can't wear them anymore. Some I still wear but they are huge. I need to reward myself soon.

I teach grades 7-12 and have PE and American History. 5 preps?!?!?! Wow!! that's a tough schedule!!

What an inspiring post! Thanks so much for this let's us newer ones know that this slow going will pay off. I hadn't thought of what to treat myself with but a new hair style sounds great Or maybe a day at the spa.... so many possibilities .
