I began my journey November 2010 and have now completed all prerequisites my insurance requires. Hope to have response soon. Anyone have Blue Cross Blue Shield of TX know how long this might take?

Nov 2010??? what all did they require you to do? i have cigna and im in va but its the same as blue cross blue shield, it just changed to cigna bc of the part of va that i am living in now. i actually have a secondary insurance that is tricare prime, and im almost wondering if it would be faster to drop my cigna and just use tricare lol!
First your regular care physician had to write that it was needed, second complete 3 months of nutrition classes. Then meet with a dietitian. Finally a physic eval. Don't get discouraged it wasn't that hard, just my doctor's insurance lady, suggested I complete all the steps before we submitted it to the insurance company,
I finished all on Feb 10, it was submitted that week and got my approval yesterday
Oh wow.. my insurance you have to have 2 docs say u need it then as well a bariatric surgeon that says the same. 6 months of dieting and exercise.. 6 month dietician.. the psych Eval. 5 years of notes from reg doc showing you've came in for height n weight etc. An h pylori test which in worried bout bc ive had it before.. and the doc thats doin mine requires before u get surgery u have to pay 120.00 for 6 1 hour sessions of an exercise class you have to take after you have surgery which that part I thought was pretty cool.. I just hope n pray my insurance covers it...
