Default Keeping track of what we eat

I personally hate doing it & have not be keeping track of the details like how many calories every thing has & looking up every other detail. ( I know I need to get in the habit of dooing that for the rest of my life if I wanna stay thin & not one day say WTF?!?!?! How did I gain this all back?

Anyways I found this book just for us..

I suppose the Banana is suppose to represent the shape of our new bellies..

I'm gonna try to start using this book to keep better track of what I'm eating.
I figure getting a book that is more for us might motivate me to keep track better than I tend to do.

I still say that FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal is easier. I don't have to calculate anything, unless I create a custom food. The website does it all. I log my food every day, and it counts the calories, carbs, protein, and fat grams for me, plus all the other nutrients, and gives me pretty graphs if I want. Whatever works for you, will work for you. So do what you find you can turn into a habit.

I have also been using fit day for about a month and it is the best tool ever. It is so easy and it makes me accountable for what I eat or sometimes it is more like what I am not eating. That book does look interesting though Bob....

I use MyFitnessPal, it also calculates everything and has almost every food I entered in it. I like it because it syncs to my phone automatically and i can either enter it in the computer or on my phone. It also tracks my exercise and prints out reports that I can bring to the doctor or nutritionist and its FREE!

That sounds cool because you dont have to remember , you can just whip out your phone right there & do it.

Red face Re: Keeping track of what we eat

Also, with MyFitnessPal it has a bar code reader, so if you are drinking say, a bottle of FUZE healthy infusions and dont want to look it up or type in all the info, just point to the bar code on the bottle with your phone and it puts it right in! Real easy

Excellent question! I'm not all that technically savvy yet, but I will check it out and let you know what I discover. I do use a Droid phone and can access my Facebook account from my phone, so who knows what other apps I may soon start using!

Ooh - I'll have to check out the FitnessPal app. I'm currently using MyNetDiary on my iPhone. That works really well, but but having the bar code reader option is cool too!

I went to the doctor last week for my one month follow up & was honest about how I've given up on keeping track of what I eat.
Its too much work & to think up how many calories & Carbs & sugars etc of what I ate vs what was left over & etc etc was a pain.

So they told me at this point what is most important is to make sure I'm getting all my protein.
So they said just focus on protein for now & make sure I'm getting about 80 grams a day.
    & I figured I can do that.
The easier they are willing to make it on me the more likely I'll do it.
Of course I realize they will probably to try gradually sneak in making me monitor all the listings of what I eat.

No, they just know if you're getting in your 80 grams of protein and staying sufficiently hydrated, you don't have room for much else!
