You do lose hair but you won't go bald and it does grow back.

Mine is right now It seems like a lot to me, but I have naturally thick hair and no one else has noticed. I have always loved my hair too, so while it is hard - it really isn't horrible.

And it doesn't alllll fall out and yes, it does grow back. I'll take it - the trade off is a HOTT body!

I think this is true for most people. I still pray it won't happen to me because I have baby fine hair and it barely grows, so it would suck, but in the end I decided that I would rather wear a wig and be skinny.

I've been losing A LOT of hair for the past four weeks, and it all comes down to one thing (for me): PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN. Now that I'm getting my protein in, I'm noticing fine hair growing and slowly filling things in. At no time did anyone else notice, but I too am willing to wear a wig for a while to accomplish my goals. It will all be okay. Protein, vitamins, biotin will all help. ((hugs))

I am willing to wear a wig, in exchange for a healthier me! I wear one anyway from October thru April, but getting btr on the protein, I've been having a time digesting any type of meat, except some fish, but last night I tried a lil deli turkey (chopped) and I was so happy to not reject it, things are getting btr, 2 more wks of soft, best wishes to all

Take the biotin, and yes it will grow back.

I am 4.5 months post surgery and my hair starting thinning badly in December. I know because my wife took great joy in mocking me about it... One of the Christmas gifts she bought for me as a gift from my daughters was a bottle of shampoo for people with thinning hair. She had a great laugh when I opened that. Next day I bought biotin and I already notice an improvement in just 3 weeks.

The shampoo is not bad either so I use it -and after what I did to her toothbrush, I get a good laugh myself every morning....

It might not fall out, if you get enough protein and supplements and loose slower. But for people like me who lost too quickly i lost it ALL! I wore a wig for almost a year till i finally got enough hair back. While it was not pleasant it was not the end of the world. It was worth it and even knowing what i know now i would still do it all again! Some sacrifices are worth it.

I lost a lot of hair between 3 and 6 months after surgery, but no one noticed except me and my hairdresser. That is all over now, and lots is growing back in. Lots of fine little hairs at my part. My hairdresser told me to get 100 g of protein a day, gave me certain shampoos and conditioners to use, etc. and it really did not get very bad at all---just hair everywhere in the carpet! Just make sure you get plenty of protein, and you will be fine.

I lost A LOT of hair and now after over 6mo it is finally slowing down. I have A LOT of hair though so no one really noticed. My aunt has thinner hair ad she didn't lose any. I think it depends on the person. I heard increasing protein and biotin does not really do much for the loss that is created by the massive shock to your system. BUT it can't hurt to try everything to save what you got. Best of luck!

Yes i've heard people say they lose their hair. One lady said it happened around the three month mark and she started taking 7500 mcg biotin 50mg zinc and a b-12 shot which seemed to stop it.

I've been taking B12 (2500 mcg) and biotin (4000 mcg) since a month pre-op, and I'm still taking it (sublingual). I have to admit I haven't had any protein yet. I know, bad, bad. The whey is making me sick to my stomach (did this pre-op too).
