    Default Two day old sleeve

Maybe more like a day and a half....
A bunch of this and that......

I'm feeling pretty good....didn't sleep very well last night as hubby tends to flail his arms about....finally put a couple of pillows between us. I felt like I was protecting my stomach all night.

Let's talk gas....I walked and walked and walked....I'm still walking and it's doing a lot of good.
Very odd to be excited about pass in gas.
It's weird coming out of the surgery thinking you won't be hungry....the gas bubbles are very deceiving.

So far I have about 10 oz of liquids down but I do understand the difficulty. I like the warm broth because that helps get rid of the gas bubbles. I've learned what size sips to actually take.

So far I haven't needed any of the nausea meds that the doc was so generous with but not putting them away yet. I've only needed the pain meds once. They knock me out so maybe before bed.

So far I don't regret doing this...I regret getting to the point I needed to do this but I don't regret doing it.

I go get my staples out June 6th so I'll let them weigh me then....

I can't thanks you guys enough for the information and the support I've received here on the forum!

Aww honey I'm so happy you're doing so well. I had an endoscopy yesterday and the woman in recovery next to me had just had the sleeve done and she was moaning and screaming in pain. That made me worry. My doctor whispered that she was a wuss LOL. He promised me it isn't as bad as she was making it out to be. Anyway, I'm happy you're feeling good and heres hoping you'll continue to feel better and better each day! Thanks for letting us know

pillows will are the essential tool for recovery. I have a travel pillow I use to put under my seatbelt. puts a little pressure there, and stops the seatbelt from irritating the incisions. at night I keep one across my belly (I have cats and this stops stops then from jumping on my stomach - it's also just comforting to have) I put one under each arm, because I'm not a back a sleeper, this kind of elevates your arms to much more comfortable resting position.
    pillows are like magic.

Welcome back! Glad to hear everything is going well (sans the gas)...but in this situation, passing gas is a good thing...lol Hope you continue to have a smooth recovery and fast healing!!

I am so impressed you all can sleep in your beds. Well Actually I slept well but I couldn't get up. So I have been sleeping in the recliner, which also forces me to sleep on my back. I will try the bed again in a couple of days.

Sounds like we are all doing great. sipping, walking, sleeping and yes passing gas. yea!

The one thing I am worried about after surgery is my 6lb yorkie jumping on me while I sleep. There is no way for me to keep him off my bed and away from me without him barking all night! I wonder if I can get a Boppy pillow lol.

I will begin post-op on June 3 and I am nervous about making it through the liquid diet. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? Thanks
