I haven't had insurance in years..I just recently found an insurance that will cover me.. I am sick in body and feel like this is my chance to get my life back. My husband had died almost 8 years ago and I have been in survival mode most of the time. I really want to live again!! I am afraid insurance will not pay for the surgery.. I am tired, sick and desperate, not to mention afraid. I am so thankful that i found all of you... Thanks sooo much!!!!

Welcome, dont be afraid. If and when you are ready to make a life change, you will know it. Just pray about it and when you have peace with it then do it. If your insurance won't pay, you can do like me and my husband are doing and so many of my friends have done... go to MX. They have some great Drs there. We are using Dr. Kelly. The cost is very affordable considering. Just something to think about. Best of luck with your journey, either way you decide to go. So sorry for the loss of your husband, I will remember you in my prayers for peace and strength.

Welcome to both of you! I'm pretty new here too and everyone has been very helpful to me.

I recommend you go for a consultation with a WLS surgery Dr. and see if this is what you really want to do, it's a HUGE commitment and you have to be all in and fully committed and ready to make life long changes. You're Dr will have a staff member who's only job is to get you approved. They can look at your coverage and see if it's something your policy covers if it does then they will tell you all the hoops you need to jump through to have it approved.

Take a little while to think it over, do a ton of research and make a wise decision based on what will work for you.
