I had my surgery one whole year ago. Wow.... Time flies. My starting weight before i went to see My Dr. was 336, Day of surgery I was at 326 and today I am at 227. I have lost 109 lbs to date. I have been between 224 and 229 for the past 4 months but my Dr. said that it was normal for my body to stall after such weight loss. I know I have to eat better and excersize and pretty much kick it up a notch if i want to continue my weight loss. For those you curious as to what you can eat after one year, well pretty much anything but different foods have different effects. Chicken, and beef fill me up right away after a few bites as does brown rice and bread. Anything processed is very bad and I must tell you all to stay away and don't even start trying to eat it. The reason is that you can eat more of it before you feel full and once you start it's hard to stop so just make right choices people. I still drink my protein shakes in the morning and i have no problem with those. I make 8-12 oz in a shaker cup but it takes me about 3 hours or so to even finish it, for lunch i can eat an entire can of tuna with lime, tomato, onion, and cilantro, and dinner well usually some protein and a carb. I have started drinking some alcohol but it does get into your system a lot quicker so you have to be careful or avoid it all together. Some of my milestones include fitting in chairs without the sides digging into my sides, being able to comfortably sit in movie theatre, fitting through turnstyles, being able to shop in regular clothing stores, wearing belts, putting my seatbelt on in my car without having to shimmy my butt over to find the part to insert it in, crossing my legs and finally fitting comfortably in an airplane seat without a seatbelt extender. I'm not at all skinny but I can do all of these things and the first time i did some i actually got emotional about it. I look back at my pics and i can't believe it. I am so happy i decided to have this surgery. It has really changed my life.
