    Question Omeprazole

    The Dr. ordered that I take this medication after surgery, when you are on a liquid diet and can't swallow it whole. What do you take it with?

    Open the capsul empty it in a glass , add a bit of water spin it around and down it. Follow it up with a few sips of water . I do it ever morning

    I got "orodispersible" ones - they dissolve under the tongue. Will warn you they are strawberry flavour and not very pleasant but needs must!!

    I'm so dumb...when I had my surgery on 03/06 and got home to see this huge horse pill, I almost freaked. I opened one and put it into some water and it did not go down. So, I thought, surely my doctor knows that he prescribed this HUGE pill. I've been swallowing it since Day 4. I went in for my 1st follow-up a week later and his eyes got as big as the pill when I told him I'd been swallowing it whole for a week. He just decided I was a freak of nature and let me make it, lol.

    PLEASE, don't be a freak like me. Follow the suggestions listed above!

    those little things are tricky in water...they kind of want to fall to the bottom, so you have to swirl it a LOT! The jello would probably be much better.

    I just take mine they are really small two toned brown capsules which I find way easire to take then the antibiotic pill they have me take

    Hi, I'm taking OMEPRAZOLE since my surgery. My tablets are a soluble kind. Full name is LOSEC MUPS, strength 40mg by AstraZeneca. You can mix your tablet with 2 teaspoons of still water. Gently stir this mixture into a small amount of acidic fruit juice ( pineapple, orange, apple) or yogury. Drink this mixture straight away.
