  1. Re: Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah to You! Thank you all!!

Anytime! Pick away!! I think we can "friend" each other and have a private conversation, I'll try that! Good luck!
  2. Re: Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah to You! Thank you all!!

Good luck! But you need to make decisions for you. While I know your mother loves you and you her you need to make yourself happy. If her wanting you to get healthy is different than yours, you...
  3. Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah to You! Thank you all!!

So, I'm 18 months out from surgery. I have lost 120 pounds and 60 inches off of my body. That's a whole person!!!! I had my picture taken this morning before I left for church, I've posted that to...

I can eat pizza, I eat about 1/2 of a piece, crust and all. You can enjoy but it's a learning curve. With all of the bread, be careful you don't over stuff!!

    Re: Vitamins

I do not take liquid or chewable but One a Day Women's has a petite. It's a 2 dose vitamin, one smaller pill twice a day. I have only found them in CVS or Shoprite. Just a thought.

    Re: Frustrated

What are the concerns exactly? You said Bipolar and her medications. I am Bipolar as well, my understanding is that if the person is unstable (or was in the recent past) then it's an issue and I...

    Re: Does anyone else dump?

My understanding is that 80% of bypass patients and 20% of sleeve patients dump....I guess I get the prize. Thanks for the input!! Don't get me wrong, I am not planning on eating my weight in...

    Does anyone else dump?

I'm very happy with my decision, having the sleeve but the one side effect I don't like is that I have dumping syndrome. I guess it's a great deterrent, if I'm sick from the sugar I won't eat the...

    Re: Ch-ch-changes... :)

That's great! I am a school nurse as well and having lost the 101 pounds feels great. I have more to lose, but I was feeling like a hypocrite, telling children about healthy eating...that was...

    Re: My First Post

As far as extra skin, my thighs do look like a shar-pei, but that's really the worst. My abdomen has extra skin, but you can only tell if you pull on it. It's not saggy, just seems empty, does that...

Welcome and good luck ladies!! I had surgery June 2011 at 340 pounds and am currently 239 pounds. I was terrified before surgery, mostly worried about it being unsuccessful. Well, that's not a...

    Re: Omeprazole Capsules?

I take medications that I need to live that only come in capsule, I have no problem and no one ever told me I couldn't take them. Hope this helps! Good luck!!
  14. Re: How many of us on this site are physicians, PAs, NPs, or CNSs??

I am a school nurse...does that count? I too, wanted to be an example to my students. How can I give lessons on healthy eating and exercise when I weigh 340 pounds??

Re: 4 months out, extremely BAD hair loss!

I too, take biotin every day. Low iron is also a possibility. I agree, have blood drawn and check those things. My iron level was so low the saturation was undetectable. My hair fell out in the...

Hello!! This is a great place to gather information. I had the Lap-band in 2006 and lost a bunch of weight, it slipped and then I regained everything plus some (well plus a lot). I had the same...

Re: Is anyone UNhappy with their sleeve?

Ya' know I was thinking. My Dr said that it is normal to see physical changes (ie clothes fit differently or lost inches) well before you see it on the scale.

Re: Is anyone UNhappy with their sleeve?

Not a single regret! I had the band done in 2006, that was a mistake. I have actually referred several people who talk about WLS to my Dr and we talk about the sleeve in detail.

    I will say,...

    I can't believe it!!

Ok, this week I had been going through my attic, getting rid of everything that is too big. I have a habit of keeping the "fat" stuff...just in case. Well, I decided that's not an option anymore. ...

    Re: Odd clothes size changes

I agree with the "vanity sizing" theory. When I had surgery in June I was a tight 24/26 (Lane Bryant) now I can wear an 18 (that I need to have the waist altered by my mother, I'm a bit...

Re: Did anyone get a hematoma after surgery?

I did! I had my lap band removed 4 weeks earlier and they used the same incision to do the sleeve as they did to remove the band. It got pretty big and hard, not extremely painful unless I moved in...
